Every time I hear DOOM brought up it’s always said that he’s your favorite rappers favorite rapper. Me personally I think he just goes over my head with most of his songs as they rarely captivate me enough to dive deeper in his catalogue. Definitely a skilled emcee though

2022-08-14 18:51:45 +0000 UTCI think DOOM is more of an abstract thinker and writer, so his thoughts almost come in as rhymes to where he just writes them down like that, and allow the listener to decode and interpret the words subjectively while simultaneously providing you with a sonically dope verse. It’s so cool how just on the surface level his rhymes are top tier, then you keep listening and there is actual abstract substance

2022-08-14 08:35:10 +0000 UTCDOOM can get really cryptic, and, when you combine that with his stream of conciousness style of writing, it can be very hard to follow for casual listeners. It may seem like he's just rhyming random words, but there are "bars" hidden in there.
