Every time I hear DOOM brought up it’s always said that he’s your favorite rappers favorite rapper. Me personally I think he just goes over my head with most of his songs as they rarely captivate me enough to dive deeper in his catalogue. Definitely a skilled emcee though

The words here meant something so immediately it’s not just rhyming words.

Doom in this song was literally just saying words that rhyme. No point was being made, no story being told. Stay wide awake portrays multiple horrendous crimes being committed in connection with the same individual. You’re choosing to ignore this.

I think DOOM is more of an abstract thinker and writer, so his thoughts almost come in as rhymes to where he just writes them down like that, and allow the listener to decode and interpret the words subjectively while simultaneously providing you with a sonically dope verse. It’s so cool how just on the surface level his rhymes are top tier, then you keep listening and there is actual abstract substance

Again if you believe this song is like that then by your belief most Eminem songs are “Spiritual lyrical miracle”

It’s the definition of spiritual miracle

And the main thing that everyone here has to accept is that he wasn’t just rhyming.

When did I compare what they were talking about? I just said the story in the song wasn’t a masterpiece. For example, Stan is an absolute masterpiece for the story. Stay Wide Awake is different mostly it’s about his rhyming.

DOOM can get really cryptic, and, when you combine that with his stream of conciousness style of writing, it can be very hard to follow for casual listeners. It may seem like he's just rhyming random words, but there are "bars" hidden in there.

MF DOOM has the weirdest/best talking shit bars. First Lupe, now DOOM. It's like you just decided to start reacting to my top 5 rappers, Stevie. I'm here for it.

You didn’t even read my reply correctly. I just said that I don’t believe that Eminem is just rhyming. The story isn’t a masterpiece at all but the rhyming was.

You can't call a masterpiece like Stay Wide Awake as 'just rhyming'... he is telling an intriguing story, a horror story with music, that draws you in. Em makes it come alive as you listen cuz the words create imagines as you move through it is so well written!

Stay wide awake is “just rhyming” then. He is not talking about anything important just telling a story that doesn’t mean anything. I don’t believe that but with your way of thinking then you have to agree with me.

Nah this really is just rhyming words. He’s not actually saying anything. Eminem has never done this except in his infinite era.

He defiantly wasn't "just rhyming words" because he was talking about other rappers. He was also putting some humor in the song. If he was just rhyming then we can say that to a lot of Eminem songs then. I heard less than 5 songs from DOOM but this flow is crazy.
