The Eugenia Cooney Spectacle
Added 2025-09-16 16:30:55 +0000 UTCA two-hour-long analysis of one of the Internet’s strangest and longest-running spectacles. This story has everything: a northeastern coastal mansion, a severe yet unacknowledged illness broadcast to an audience of millions for over a decade, an almond mom, Jeffree Star, a cottage industry of sleuthing bloggers, and, of course, Donald Trump. This is the American dream.

The term is actually typically applied to men and they are normally mentally disabled, autistic, or even just socially awkward. The term lolcow is because you are “milking” them for entertainment. I think it’s an important distinction to make because I truly believe that the only reason that we even have a term for this kind of behavior is BECAUSE it is normally directed at men, therefore it’s abnormal enough for it to have its own special label. This kind of obsessive hatred is pretty common towards women online. Just wanted to add on to that specific point!! Great discussion! :)
