Session 85:
"The Magic Wordâ
âšł âšł âšł
Spring break.
What every college student looks forward to after mid-terms, especially my friends and me.
Normally, we would have some kind of trip lined upâlast year, Kaia and I went to Ibiza together.
This year, Iâm staying in Seattle and doing a staycation with Zion and Sarai since weâre planning to go to Tulum once summer hits.
Weâll be post-grad, hopefully my mother will know about me and Monroe by then, and life will genuinely feel good.
Iâm already imagining Monroe dripping with pool water and a bathing suit clinging to her body.
This staycation has been a little harder than I thought, so daydreaming about my girlfriend on vacation is all I really have right now.
It doesnât help that my timeline is flooded with pictures and videos of me and Kaia from Ibiza.
I think itâs normal to miss her, but at this point, itâs been so long since I even told her I would reach out.
Itâs too late to send her a text or the pictures from last spring break.
I focused on anything but last year and tried to appreciate Seattle for what it is.
Monroe was busy with work, some even government-related, so I really only got time with her in the early morning or late at night.
But Iâve been busy during the day with Zion and Sarai anywayâso far weâve done a sunrise hike at Rattlesnake Ledge, spent hours vintage shopping in Fremont, and took the water taxi to Alki Beach just to eat fish and chips and skip rocks.
We even rented bikes and rode around Green Lake one day, then went to a poetry open mic in Ballard where Sarai criedâtwice, by the way.
My favorite part of the week was when we acted like tourists at the Space Needle, or maybe watching the sunset from Kerry Park with cups of bubble tea.
The sunset was like that cotton candy pink.
It also distracted us from how in-between our lives felt, and the big changes quickly approaching now that March is about to be over.
All we have left is April, and then the beginning of May is when we graduate.
Iâm excited, but Iâm also scared about not being a college student anymore.
Thereâs this naivety to being in collegeâalmost like youâre an adult and can make big decisions, but you also have more room to mess up.
After college, Iâll just be thrown into adulting.
Monroe says my life is just beginningâthat university is small on my life timeline, but all I can focus on is this chapter thatâs closing. Top of Form
I think Monroe noticed how down I was or that I was trying my best to have a good spring break because she asked Zion and Sarai to take me out.
To a club.
I thought she was pranking me at first, then I poked her arm a few times, wondering if she was an AI model of my girlfriend.
But no.
Monroe wanted me to go out, and I guess make use of whatâs left of my college days.
Tonight, Zion and Sarai mentioned the club, and then, since tomorrow is Saturday and the end of spring break, thereâs supposed to be some kind of frat party.
I was pretty excited, honestlyâI started getting ready for the club as soon as the evening hit.
I even picked out my outfit like it was the first day of school or something.
I went with a cropped white tank top, a mini camo skirt, and black knee-high boots.
Also, sunglasses because I like my eyes shielded from those annoying strobe lights.
I did my usual makeup but with a little extra blush.
I was finished a little early, so I ventured out of my bedroom to make myself a snack to eat, so I had something in my stomach.
I also called Monroe to check in on her since sheâs been working late the last few nights.
I can tell that even laying eyes on Dr. Kincaid in that office is genuinely beginning to eat away at her.
Especially because itâs every day, and Dr. Kincaid seems to act oblivious in a way that would probably irritate anyone.
âAside from that situation,â I said, refusing to even say Dr. Kincaidâs name, âHow has your work been?â I asked, shoving a few more tortilla chips in my mouth.
It was the only chips I had, and I only wanted chips, so Iâm making it work.
âDecent,â Monroeâs soft voice echoed from my phone. âIâm more focused on seeing this outfit of yours.â
I smiled slightly, chewing a few times, âIâll take a few mirror pictures for you, baby,â I assured her.
âThatâs not necessary,â Monroe determined, making my brows furrow.
Especially when I heard two calm knocks at my door.
My hand froze in the chip bag, staring at my closed front door like a ghost had walked through it or something.
âRo,â I unconsciously said, leaning away from the kitchen island with furrowed brows.
âOpen the door, darling,â I heard her voice echo from the other side of the door, and my phone speaker.
My smile grew wider as I quickly walked toward the door, my stiletto boots clicking against the floor.
I didnât hesitate to tug the door open, ending the call just as I came face to face with her.
Her silky, dark hair was down as usual, wearing a blouse and dress pants with her usual shiny stilettos.
âRo Ro,â I immediately grinned, throwing myself into her arms without thinking twice.
You would think I hadnât seen her in years when, in reality, it had only been a few hours.
I heard Monroe chuckle softly as she hugged me tighter to her, her soft hands roaming underneath my skirt to cup my ass.
âMy sweet girl,â she softly whispered, kissing my shoulder, âIn an awfully short skirt,â she added, now reaching to tug the material further down.
âI get hot in the club,â I admitted, pulling back from our hug with an innocent smile.
My girlfriend hummed, her blue eyes openly trailing my face. âI suppose I should change too, then?â
I furrowed my brows.
Then my lips parted slightly, registering what she meant.
âWait, youâre coming?â I asked as she guided us inside my apartment, letting the heavy front door close.
âI never planned on letting you go alone, Liberty,â Monroe said, effortlessly pushing her sleeves up to her elbows as she eyed my body.
It was probably one of the most attractive things she had done.
I genuinely couldnât think properly for a moment.
âMay I borrow something from your closet, darling?â my girlfriend spoke again, nearly making my whole face light up.
âOh my god, yes,â I didnât hesitate to say, grabbing one of her hands. âImmediately, yes.â
Monroe laughed softly when I tugged her along toward my bedroom, her sharp stilettos clicking against the floor with mine.
âI call dibs on dressing you,â I determined as we walked into my bedroom.
âOh?â Monroe said when I lightly pushed her onto my bed, earning an amused look from her.
âStay there,â I insisted as I walked away from her.
âWhatâs the magic word, darling?â Monroe just had to say, a teasing tone to her voice.
âPlease,â I said as I glanced over my shoulder with a smile, âPretty please, mommy,â I added as I walked into my closet.
âMy good girl,â I heard her murmur, making me smile as I eyed all of the clothes in my closet.
I wanted to pick out something she wouldnât usually wear.
Like a short skirt that matched mineâI had this cute black leather one.
Then I grabbed a black bodysuit because I didnât want her showing a lot of her upper body.
I also like it when she wears all black, so I already knew it would look killer on her.
I was impatient to see her finally pull it all on, sitting on the edge of the bed as I watched her strip out of her work clothes and put on mine.
I enjoyed every second of the sight Monroe gave me, especially of her in my clothes.
The skirt looked perfect on her, emphasizing her long, soft legs.
I almost wanted her to take it off and put her in a pair of pants instead.
But I also wanted to look at her like this all nightâit felt like foreplay to me.
And her hair looked so good down, especially once I curled a few pieces to give it an effortlessly messy look.
Then I put some of my blush on her so we could match, and I applied the lip gloss I was wearing tonight onto her soft lips too.
It was so⊠domestic.
Us matching, even with the smallest details.
I loved it so much.
I genuinely couldnât wait to get this night on the road, especially with Zion and Sarai joining us.
I was so excited that Monroe was even coming to the club that I completely forgot about the public aspect.
Monroe thought it all through, every detail actually.
She already had an SUV waiting for us, and then we picked up Zion and Sarai, so we could be driven to a town over.
Monroe didnât want anyone driving irresponsibly either, so the drivers were already instructed to wait around until weâre all ready to leave.
I donât even want to imagine how much Monroe paid them.
All that mattered was that I would get a night out with my girlfriend.
Sarai even brought two bottles of Hennessy so we could pregame with shots.
âDonât let them get you,â Zion said to Monroe as Sarai as I took another shot. âLast time I drank with them, I ended up on their private stories, eating fries off a random personâs plate.â
Monroe chuckledâmeanwhile, I dramatically rolled my eyes.
âHave a little fun, Ziona,â I said, earning a loose laugh from Sarai, who nodded a few times.
âYeah, babe,â she softly nudged him.
Zion only gave us a blank stare, sitting by Sarai in the row behind us. âChill with the Ziona thing.â
I laughed with Sarai, gently grabbing Monroeâs arm, âBaby, we have to tell you about Ziona,â I insisted, making my girlfriendâs soft lips tilt up.
All I could focus on was my lip gloss that coated her lips.
âBasically, when Zion gets sassy, we call him Ziona,â Sarai briefly explained.
I laughed again as I took a sip from the Hennessy bottle that Monroe and I had been sharing, noticing my girlfriendâs amusement growing.
âI think they like Ziona more,â Zion mumbled to Monroe as I handed her to Hennessy bottle for a sip.
âZionaâs kind of growing on me, too,â Monroe admitted, chuckling softly when we all laughed with her.
I think the alcohol is loosening her up because she seemed kind of quiet with them at first, but now sheâs warmed up, maybe.
âI also didnât realize Dr. Kincaid was an opp, so Iâm sorry for that lunch thing,â Zion suddenly said, making my eyes widen.
I forgot that I told him and Sarai that.
Or that I forgot to clarify not to say anything.
Fuck.
âOpp?â Monroe asked, clinging to the unfamiliar term he used rather than the person he had just brought up.
It sounded so unfamiliar coming from her lips.
âOpposition. Like Dr. Kincaid is part of the opposition or opposing party,â Sarai quickly explained, her words already noticeably looser.
I felt a little tipsy, maybe, but nothing crazy.
âOkay, so next topic,â I subtly determined, hoping to leave the Dr. Kincaid topic alone.
The last thing we needed was the idea of her roaming around in Monroeâs head.
Who knows if Monroe is more open to killing someone with her bare hands after a few drinks?
Luckily, Sarai and Zion flowed with the topic change, and Monroe seemed unaffected by the topic.
It was definitely the alcohol.
She probably feels looser.
That still didnât stop her usual tendencies from showing, especially once we arrived at the club.
Monroe looked visibly disgusted by the lack of space, instinctively grabbing my hand tightly in hers to stay grounded.
She had a section reserved for us upstairs, luckily, so we didnât have to worry about being in the crowd if we didnât want to be.
âHere, baby,â I quickly said as we sat down at the cushioned booth, grabbing the hand sanitizer from my purse.
Monroe smiled as soon as she processed the hand sanitizer in my hand, or the wipes that I grabbed next for her.
âYou brought this for me?â she asked as I swiftly opened the wipes.
âOf course,â I said, briefly glancing up at her.
There was the adoring look behind her eyesâone that made my face burn up.
âI get you, remember?â I leaned in to tell her over the loud music.
Monroe nodded, her stare holding mine for a moment longer.
Then she glanced down at my lips, leaning in for a brief kiss.
I didnât hesitate to kiss her back, smiling slightly when she kissed my cheek and the edge of my jawline.
âYou get me,â I heard her murmur by my ear that she placed a soft kiss below.
I smiled wider as I pulled some of the wet wipes from the pack, running them over my girlfriendâs arms and hands.
Then I poured some hand sanitizer into her palms and mine, rubbing my hands together as she did the same.
Monroe looked so cute, especially with the loose smile on her lips.
She looked⊠grateful.
Maybe because I brought all this just for her.
I get her more than anyone else possibly could.
âWeâll leave when youâre ready,â I emphasized, leaning into her ear so she could hear me. âI know this isnât your kind of scene.â
âIâm making it my scene for you,â Monroe leaned closer to me to say, âWeâll stay until youâre satisfied, Liberty.â
âIââ
Love you.
I love you.
It was that easy to say, but it just wouldnât come out.
âThank you so much, baby,â I whispered, briefly kissing her cheek before I motioned over to the metal poles that some random drunk people were on. âMaybe I should give you a show.â
âIn private,â Monroe didnât hesitate to say, briefly squeezing my thigh.
I smiled slightly, knowing I would definitely be on that pole later tonight.
But before I could follow up on Monroeâs statement, Zion and Sarai were already approaching our section again with the bottle girls.
The sparklers they held immediately caught everyoneâs attention.
Of course, Sarai managed to convince Zion to hold a sparkler with her.
I was actually laughing so hard that I almost peed myself.
I immediately grabbed my phone to take a picture, especially of the words on the sign that readâ
Spring Break Babyyyy
Everyone was cheering, and we even handed out a few shots to some people since there were so many bottles of alcohol.
Then I took my rightful place on my girlfriendâs lap, happily vibing to the music as she kept her arms around my waist.
Monroe literally hugged me the entire time, only pulling her hand away to take shots.
Then she would go right back to hugging me, which I found so fucking cute.
Zion and Sarai were busy dancing by the railingâthey even went downstairs to dance in the crowd.
Somehow, Zion managed to convince Monroe to go down there one time.
I couldnât tell if it was because of all the alcohol we had been consistently drinking or if it was because Zion brought Ziona out to convince my girlfriend.
Either way, I was so thankful, especially to witness Monroe out in the crowd.
I kept her close to me the entire time, dancing next to Zion and Sarai while Monroe remained behind me.
âNo way,â I said as soon as I noticed Monroe lip syncing the words.
To a song by The Weeknd.
âBaby⊠you-know this song,â I leaned into her ear to say, a loose smile buzzing on my lips.
âFrom the record you gifted me,â I heard her say, her words looser in the cutest way.
âYouâre so cute,â I said, turning around in her arms to cup her soft face in my heavy hands.
Everything felt so good around me.
The air, the music, and especially Monroeâs body.
I loved this entire moment as a whole.
âOkay, Monroe, break it down one time for us,â Sarai said, leaning closer to us with Zion by her side, nodding a few times.
My girlfriend pursed her lips like she was in genuine thought, but then a smile grew on her lips and naturally made me smile with her.
âShow them your moves, baby,â I said, nudging her away slightly so there was some space between us.
I nearly grinned when my girlfriend actually began dancingâshe even dragged Zion into the cute dance that she was doing.
Zion was such a chaotic energy, jumping and full-on dancing.
Meanwhile, Monroe did this attractive sway with her hips, capturing all of my attention.
Who was this, and what did she do with Dr. Leclair?
Because this is purely Ro Ro right now, and I have no complaints.
Both sides of this woman prove to be my favorite every time.
I swear I wanted to watch her dance all night.
Even once we made it upstairs again, I insisted that she sit on my lap this time, just so I could guide her hips to the beat of the music.
I was on this weird dopamine high, determining that this was my best night out in my entire life.
I even convinced Monroe about the stripper pole, wanting to get on it one time.
It was a yes, but with a twenty-second timer, which she made Zion count down.
I still took advantage of the full moment, wrapping my legs around the pole and spinning around it.
I threw my head back, flowing with the music, basing all around me.
It was the perfect way to end our night.
The car ride back was the most hilarious contrast to the club environment.
We were all laid out across the seats, entirely exhausted from our time out.
I think Monroe stayed upâI wasnât sure.
All I remembered was lying across her lap as she played with my hair.
Zion definitely was up because he kept talking about the most random thingsâlike why ostriches existed.
He talked the entire time while Monroe gave one-word responses to him, letting him talk as much as he pleased, while Sarai and I were completely knocked out.
Before I knew it, Zion wasnât talking anymore.
They were dropped off at their place while I was asleep, and suddenly, I was waking up to Monroe gently waking me up.
We were both still past tipsy.
For once, my girlfriend walked barefoot through the parking garage, holding her heels and my boots as I walked barefoot with her.
I was so happy that we were staying at my placeâI know Monroe brought up that she hadnât stayed over in a while.
I think she was just drunk, and she seems to love my apartment when sheâs drunk.
She moved around my place like she lived here herself, and I swear it was just so cute to watch.
I let her run our shower for us while I put dinosaur nuggets in the oven for us to eat after our shower.
After a few drunk nights, I had learned my lesson to put a timer on.
A few timers, actually, so nothing would get burned.
It was kind of hard to rush our shower, given how we both struggled with the soap and overall washing ourselves.
âIs that⊠shampoo?â I asked with furrowed brows as Monroe kneaded the soap into my hair.
âYes,â she breathed out.
âBaby, I already-did shampoo for us,â I whispered, chuckling at how uncoordinated we are.
âOh,â Monroe said, âDo you want me to take it out?â
âRo, we have to wash it outâregardless,â I pointed out, my words stuck together as more laughs fell from my lips.
âRightâvery true,â Monroe murmured, making me laugh even harder.
âYouâre so cute,â I breathed out through my laughter. âI love doing everything with you.â
âEverything?â Monroe asked with a loose smile, putting some of the shampoo in her wet hair.
I laughed harder at her bangs stuck to her forehead, gently tucking them back out of her face.
âEverythingâI love⊠living life with you,â I determined, trying to make my words sound less slurred, but god, was I failing.
âMe too,â Monroe whispered, wrapping her arms around my waist, âI really-really love living life with you, Liberty.â
I frowned when I noticed the glossiness in her eyes, immediately pulling her into a hug.
âNo-baby, donât cry,â I whispered, rocking us back and forth.
âBut youâre perfect-I want to cry because youâre perfect,â Monroe said, sniffling as she hugged me tighter to her.
âYouâre even more perfect,â I whispered, holding her tighter to me, âYouâre really perfect, Monroe.â
I couldnât help the tears that weighed down my eyes, suddenly feeling so overwhelmed by so much emotion.
Only positive emotions, but they were still so overwhelming.
âI donât want to make you cry,â Monroe said, pulling away from me with puffy eyes and soapy shampoo still in her hair.
Mine wasnât washed out either, so I imagine we both look crazy right now.
âI donât want to make you cry either,â I whispered, my words stuck together as I pulled her closer to me by her waist.
âSo we wonât cry,â Monroe determined, making me nod a few times as I openly stared at her face.
âYouâre so pretty when you cry,â I whispered, reaching up to carefully wipe under her eyes.
âYouâre really pretty too,â Monroe said, letting out the deepest sigh as she reached up to cup my face in her hands.
She was so soft with me.
All I could do was smile up at her.
Then somehow, a laugh fell from my lips, making my girlfriend laugh as well.
âI think weâre-crazy,â I said, laughing even harder as she pulled me into another hug.
It was insane how we just flipped from crying to laughing, but I swear all I could do was laugh now.
We genuinely laughed for the rest of our shower, talking about the most random things.
Monroe was mostly thinking about the Dino nuggets cooking in the oven, talking about how ready she was to eat them.
Once we were out of the shower, smothered in lotion, with our skincare done and big t-shirts covering our bodiesâit was officially time to eat.
Or Dino nugget time, as Monroe called it.
I made over twenty nuggets by accident, so I just put them all onto the plate with a pile of ketchup and barbecue sauce in the middle.
I swear we ate them all within minutesâMonroe also made us chug water before brushing our teeth.
Then she insisted that we chug more water so weâll feel better in the morning.
I was more worried about peeing myself in the middle of the night, but I guess it would be fine.
I swear it felt so good to lie in my bed, especially after the long night we had.
Monroe even stripped out of the t-shirt she wore to sleep naked with me, so I laid up to take mine off too.
It felt nice being skin-to-skin with her.
It also made me think about what she saidâhow skin-to-skin contact makes her feel like the world isnât on fire.
I held her tighter just because of it, falling asleep with my head still spinning from all the alcohol.
Tonight officially made up for this yearâs spring break.
I think it even topped all of my other spring breaks.
