I'm here to share a little animation based on the audio of Isaac.h.p which fits Filip like a glove!
I've started with some loose planning. I usually start by putting down audio into lines. In my head I try to separate the audio into frames based on the pauses and emphasis on certain words. Then I roughly plan out the frames by thumbnailing them. As I do so I try to imagine the camera work if there's going to be any and how I want the character to move. At this stage I usually notice that it could be beneficial to split some sentences into more frames. Later in editing usually it turns out if that was a good idea XD

After the thumbnails are done I get to work on the frames. I'm pretty loose with it, a lot of stuff can be edited digitally and I make sure to prioritize fun at this point. If I enjoy the process - i usually enjoy the final product more~

As you can see I framed some of the drawings in yellow to give the page a bit more life. I edited it out from the final video but I really enjoy how it looks when it's static~
I try to pay attention to the proportions of the character. I place them side by side and frequently look back at the previous frames. Even with that extra care though, mistakes are inevitable. Head can come out too big in some frames, in other the ratio of shoulder length to torso length is all wonky. Usually I notice it while I'm still drawing, but sometimes it is better to edit the mistakes later in digital software than erasing a big part of otherwise finished piece.

What can I say... Filling the empty spaces on the page is my guilty pleasure 🤤 Even if it's little chibis like these two here, it feels like a little reward after finishing all the frames!

As much as Fili needs a therapy... I love his little whore ass just the way it is 😏
