Delay

There is obviously some delay with the production of my new microphones as the “designer” has some family problems and cannot build them right now, thus I cannot really perform any quality recordings neither measurements with the current setup which is why I decided to take some time off from everything. After our holidays in Croatia, which we really enjoyed a lot, we decided to repair some stuff in our house, as it’s been more than 15 years that we are living here and obviously this is the period where a house starts to slowly fall apart again and become ugly. We are currently in the process of improving the interior with new furniture etc. I am pleased to show you the final result when finished. Although renewing the kitchen as well as a new heating will still both remain on the waiting list because we are getting out of funds due all the expenses and the crisis.

I cannot await when everything is finished to be able to share some new stuff with you. Hopefully I will also get my new microphones soon. I just got the new Gopro 11 Mini to maybe improve my 1st person shots, I must confess I haven’t even opened the box yet. But I was in contact with Audio Pro and will get a loaner of the new A48 as well as the smaller A28 speakers from them. I would like to try how much of an improvement the A48 would give me over my A36. Allegedly the entire acoustics of the A48 is new with a bigger cabinet, different drivers, more powerful amps etc. On the other hand I am curious to hear how well the A28 can keep up with the bigger ones. I remember from my older videos when putting the T8L against the T20 I was surprised how nice the small ones sounded directly compared.

I am of course also aware of the new Devialet Mania but I honestly cannot afford getting one right now. I will try to contact the German seller though if he could provide a test unit.

The HK Onyx Studio 8 is already out as well which would be also interesting to hear maybe even side by side with the Devialet to verify if all of this hyper modern mysterious tech like “active stereo calibration” with acoustic real-time mapping and “speaker active matching” really makes any sense. Apparently it is only equipped with full range drivers thus sound dispersion should be rather bad especially for a 360 degree speaker!

I was also planning to get the AirPods Max again as a potential candidate for some sound tweaking by creating a fake hearing profile. It’s far not as precise as a parametric EQ, but more flexible than a fixed band EQ, because you can freely select the desired frequency and the gain. I wanted to experiment with this more because I really liked those headphones just sound wise I was not fully satisfied.

I am sorry for all the delay but it also helps to free my mind from everything and leave all the frustration behind. Apparently Earfun’s account on the German Amazon store was suspended, thus there are no Earfun products being sold right now in Germany. I had really hoped the UBOOM L would have become more successful than it is, which would have also helped me with my finances but recently I got less than 300€ of my monthly commission which is just depressing. You are the only ones who keep me alive somehow and I want to thank you all for this.
