Weekly Update (31.01-06.02)

Last week's weekly post. After the blunder with the last game I translated (I deleted the post, but you can find the tl patch on f95, in my thread), I lost a couple of days, but I'm getting back on track and will pick up the pace now. Though, I have to say it was a good lesson, and I learned that I shouldn't branch out and should stick to the stuff I like and know best (femc games, that is).

Today, I have for you two patches -- 1. Red-haired Demon God, and 2. Exorcist Chris. 

There are 7 new translated maps in the first patch -- small number, but one of those is the biggest map in the first village hub. I also finally fugured out how to make the text at the top show up without fail. Turns out, the plugin used here doesn't like any English punctuation marks, even apostrophes, so unless I find some solution, you'll see stuff like …… 、？But again, it's only Carnal Voices text, the one you see when you "turn on" the ring.

I noticed this about ' only half an hour before making this post, so I didn't have time to fix it yet, sorry about that. This week I'm planning to finish the first hub and, hopefully, will translate all Carnal Voices text you'll see there too. 

You could probably call this Exorcist Chris tl patch a partial now. Didn't have time to translate the prologue yet, but database stuff (enemies, items, weapons, ets) is mostly finished now. 

This week I also did some tests for Immoral Quartet tl. I tried to put some text I translated back into the game, but it was a fail. Not a huge fail, I was able to make a .ypf file (basically, an encrypted archive with game's scripts) , but it was noticeably smaller than original ypf, and the game didn't want to read it. So yeah, I guess I would need to learn more about Japanese script engines, or at least announce that I'm working on this game and hit a roadblock. But don't worry, I'll get it translated, no matter what.

I also chose the game I'll make a secret partial for. Look forward to next two weeks and my first ever patron-exclusive post (heh).
