What dissappointed me was the Adam Warren art on the Dark Horse comic adaptation. There never was a manga in Japan, just the TV series, OVA and two films. I'm not even going to count Dirty Pair Flash in the 90s, because it sucked! I don't have an issue with Warrens art, especially his series Empowered, but I feel he wasn't the right choice to do the comic. Viz Comics put out a series of Film comics, which used screen-caps of the TV show. Those were good, but very hard to find now days. But yeah, the name Dirty pair was supposed to mean that they are dirty, not sexually, but the quality of their work. Like a dirty job. It's Japan and most times you can just chalk it up to, Because Japan. For me, they will always be one of my favorites, because when I here the world "anime" which we use to just call Japanese animation back in the day, I think of Dirty Pair and Laserdic players. I started my anime exploration in 1985 with Robotech, and to some extent earlier with Battle of the Planets, Kimba, SPeed Racer and the Force Five, but I didn't know the difference between westen stuff and american stuff then. Robotech is where I first wondered why the characters were drawn that way. Then Voltron, yadda yadda! IN 1988, while at a comic book convention, that's where I was enlightened. "Older people" 20 years younger than me today, weird, were going on and on about Dirty Pair and Laserdisc players. I thought it was so futuristic as a teenager. So to this day, when you say anime, I first think Dirty Pair.

I remember when I first saw a manga comic of these two... I was so disappointed; here were these two half-naked girls, in pretty seductive poses on the cover, named "The DIRTY Pair", but there was nothing dirty in the book... I mean, there were some double entendres, and some suggestive lines, but overall, the book was nothing but a cockteasing letdown... I heard there was an issue or two where they showed one boob from the side or something, but I never bothered with the book after that first disappointment. If you call your duo of sexy girls "The DIRTY pair", you better deliver in spades on the "Dirty", or else you're just lying to your readers. Anyway, all that is to say that I like your version much better than the B.S. original series.
