Halloween 2018 Suggestions

This is the place to make your suggestions for what you'd like to see as this year's Halloween/Fall/Harvest themed Miniature.

If you haven't, please check out the Seasonal Miniature thread here for more information on what this is all about.

I'm hoping to get suggestions both for New Miniatures and for "Costumes" based on existing miniatures.

Here's an example of that I mean by a Costume:

So if there's any existing miniatures that you feel would look cool with some Holiday/Seasonal flair definitely suggest it!

There's no limit on suggestions, and at the end of the week I will select my favorite New Miniature and Costume suggestions and create a Poll for everyone to vote on.

This Suggestion thread will be open till Midnight on the 21st PST and I'll create a new thread for Voting on the 24th.

Once voting is complete I'll start making the miniature(s) and plan to make it available around the middle of October.

Halloween 2018 Suggestions

Comments

An abominable snowman / yeti

Tim Aardenburg

Turkey Cockatrice! XD

Fabian Gu

And it would give you a chance to update the other angel reskins (the recolors are on the website but the reskins aren't).

thelibraryghost

A pumpkin mimic?

Matthew Everhart

An ooze with bobbing apples inside it.

What about some Vistani?

I think a skeletal dragon would be amazing!

what about some gravestones or spooky trees, headless horsemen, or a monster like pumpkinhead..

What about a really spooky Scarecorow?

Dedalus Root

I second skelly dragon

also Wraith, Banshee or Shadow

Lisa Fe

a skeletal dragon!

More undead! Maybe the party members in zombie re-skins? (white/green-ish skin with pale eyes and bloodied clothes)

Autumn Eladrin!

Who doesn't like a good succubus? I think an angel to succubus reskin would be fitting.

Dylan Goss

Skeletal centaurs w/ a special headless one!

Jake B.

Oooo! I like reaper! Maybe a reskin on the lich?

Andrew Wittenauer

Brace yourselves, long list to follow: Animated Broom Animated Candy Animated Eggs and Toilet Paper Animated Pumpkin Animated Toys Bats Dancing Skeleton (with top-hat and walking stick) Dr. Frank N. Furter Ghosts (white ballowing bedsheet :) ) Halloween themed props (Bones, Bloodstains, Hats, Pumpkins, Candy, Spider webs, …) Headless Horseman Horror Clown Lady Death Lucifer Pumpkin Giant Pumpkin King Pumpkin Mimic Pumpkinhouse Reaper Scarecrow Swarm of Snakes Swarm of Spiders Swarm of Worms Undead Hand (thinking Adams Family) Undead Treant

Pumpkin caln goblins or candy grung

Alexander Weltsch

Candyhouse-Mimic

Tiago Frossard

Tiago Frossard

Mimic halloween candy Trick-or-treating Goblins Do you have a centaur you can re-skin as the Headless Horseman?

John Behan

Travelling Merchant dressed as Santa was my first thought? One of the elf designs as christmas elves?

Patrick Hogan

A rerelease of the skeletons w/ cutfiles would be nice and fitting. Other ideas: Pumpkin-bomb throwing alchemist, weird laboratory, graveyard and coffin props, Slenderman.

Philip Wiest

Villagers in festive outfits! For Halloween they wear monster masks and for christmas overly nerdy christmas sweaters :D

Hidde Visser

If it hasn't already been mentioned (there's a lot of awesome comments already!) then how about a pumpkin beholder? It doesn't even have to be a monster mini but could be a fun bit of terrain

Oh I didn't see your comment when I made mine down below. Goblins are the same size as gnomes & halflings. I think it'd be hilarious to see them in constumes. (and I also happen to have a character concept with this theme rattling in my head. lol)

Rachel Sanchez

Love the idea of the fallen angels

Paul Ferris

"Fallen" Costume for "Angels", for some serious Halloween fun. "Halloween Candy" Costumes for "Props-Grassland Rocks" and a "Sandworm (from the movie Beetle Juice) costume for "Purple Worm", both of which add some serious whimsy. As for a new monster, I agree with the Dullahan A.K.A. Headless horseman stat block. It has no 5e release, but homebrew of them become real popular around Halloween. Beyond that, a massive pumpkin-king type monster is another item I would love to see, something that also gets a lot of homebrew use this time of year.

Drakon Vines

Frankenstein flesh golem

Lopez999x

New: bone devil, death knight*, shadow demon, spider swarm, twigblights, will-o'-wisp. Costume: calavera catrina (from skeleton), mine spirits/knockers (from dwarfs), night hag (from green hag), mummy (from zombie). *from original undead set

thelibraryghost

Oooh, like Posada's stuff?

thelibraryghost

A goblin dressed as a gnome or halfing

Rachel Sanchez

Headless horseman, the great pumpkin (with dwarf variations of the Charlie Brown characters/hellhound snoopy), candy skull skeleton minions with their overlords the Gods of Xilbaba! Creepy animated dolls (chucky/jigsaw), jack skelington and Oogie boogie. Or the scariest of all, small children.

Andrew Wittenauer

mad alchemist

A flame skull but a pumpkin instead of a skull would be cool

Any sort of skeleton based on the day of the dead would be amazing!

i would 2nd/3rd an idea of headless horse man, with or without a horse thinking sleepy hollow maybe an ichabod crane

Kevin Stanley

thinking the same thing, get some sleepy hollow in there, so it can be used in more than just a one shot

Kevin Stanley

Well, an easy one could be pumpkin-headed versions of the human warrior/knights and skeletons that you have. An awakened jack o’ lantern could also be interesting. Headless Horseman reskins for the worg rider goblins could also be fun.

Julien Therrien

A gargantuan clockwork bunny. When it drops to 0 HP a large clockwork bunny pops out. When it drops to 0 HP a medium clockwork bunny pops out... and all the way down to a tiny clockwork egg that clicks and whirs in the PCs' hands.

Eric Feay

Pg 268 of 5e Monstrous Manual has the scarecrow monster, maybe that - perhaps even with a pumpkin head instead of burlap? Or maybe a pumpkin golem?

A mimic shaped like a chainsaw (when active, the cord swings about, there is an eye in the middle, and more rows of teeth appear!)

Necroscourge

A ghostly highwayman

A Knight/Headless Horseman and a Normal Scarecrow/Halloween Scarecrow.

Valinur

Trent with eye balls stuck to the end of some branches

Oozing slime type monster coming out of a cauldron? Spider with a pumpkin bucket full of candy for his body (double damage to diabetic like me)? Zombie that looks like michael jacksons thriller?

Some new vampire-minis would be great!

Zeb Westlander

A candy themed elemental or dragon, a pumpkin beholder, maybe some props like decrepit trees and jack-o'-lanterns.

Monsters wearing masks as Halloween costumes, such as a Rakshasa wearing a human face-mask and a Beholder wearing a big yellow smiley face mask.

Vaughn Romero

A huge fire breathing turkey!

Oogie Boogie-type fiend (Nightmare Before Christmas inspired but different enough to avoid IP).

Jason N.

Candy demon (Gula/Gobbuth).

Jason N.

Undead jesters/clowns. Undead circus performers.

Jason N.

Zombie children

Guigreen

Purpleworms with baby faces

Guigreen

Creepy bards, with forced smiles, stichedup instruments

Guigreen

There is a lich i believe. I remember downloading it

Some stichedup males and female faceless(silentehil-llike)

Guigreen

Little shop of horrors plant. Bandits dressed in orange and black. Trolls dressed up like trick or treating children. Rabid worgs? Candy corn colored elemental

A dead tree treant, broken branches. Maybe a skeletal squirrel or raccoon in the branches, or skeletons impaled on a few roots (like it lived in a cemetery and grew into several graves and the bones got caught up in the roots).

Christopher Lee

Baroque-era furniture mimics for a campaign of Beauty & The Bugbear. Although I think a better love story is Bugbear & The Beast.

Jason N.

OMG SO MANY IDEAS

Guigreen

Gulthias Tree or Corrupted Treants are general enough I'd want to keep them available year round, but both are solid options for just October releases in general.

PrintableHeroes

Werewolves uhullll but thats an old call from me 😅

Guigreen

OMG an Otyugh wearing a Privy "costume".

PrintableHeroes

Lichs, never saw onne here

Guigreen

Awekened pumpkin

Guigreen

Well now no one is gonna stop mea😂😂🤣🤣

Guigreen

Pumpkin headless rider, Just carrying the "Head"

Guigreen

Skeletons are general enough that I'd hate to limit them to seasonal content, but solid idea to just make it a habit of doing some skeletons each October.

PrintableHeroes

Monster Frankenstein's golens would be awesome

Guigreen

Skeletal Goblins... like they have a "normal" body but its darker and they have skeleton marking on their skin.

I intend to do basic sets of animals as normal minis that would be available year round. I could see doing seasonal version of them though (giant rats with antlers, or imps with pumpkins, etc)

PrintableHeroes

Can we get a grim reaper or even a headless horseman?? Those would be awesome!

We don't need ghosts, just print existing minis on transparencies!

Ooo, might be a good reskin/costume for the Mindflayer I did.

PrintableHeroes

All of the ghosts, or maybe a pumpkin headed scarecrow

More ghosts would be really cool. I would love too see maybe some spooky Awakened Shrubs with cob webs and hiding spirts among the leaves. Or, long shot here, grave stones and Awakened Squash =D

Ghosts would be awesome. I would love to see something like a Gulthias tree or a corrupted treant

Tim Caturia

I just really want a haunted town full of ghosts. Ghosts. Please a small variety of ghosts. Of villagers who're trapped in a ghost town. Ghoooooosts! XD

Willow H. Wood

Also, can you dress the Lich miniature as the grim reaper?

Dotan Shaniv

Evil scarecrow and evil vegetables that rise to do his bidding!

Dotan Shaniv

Some phantom like Ickybod Clay from Clayfighters

Tiago Frossard

Pumpkin Spider

Tiago Frossard

Campfire Elemental

Tiago Frossard

Terrifying D&D monsters in ill-fitting 1970's children's costumes. The rear views would be hilarious.

Jason N.

Pumpkin beholder!

Maciej Szydłowski

Tombstone mimics

Jason N.

Everyone always loves/fears the Privy Demon

Jason N.

Chocolate Cereal Vampire, Blueberry Cereal Ghost, Strawberry Cereal Flesh Golem

Jason N.

Fantasy versions of popular modern horror villains- Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees, etc.

Jason N.

Goblins wearing human skin "costumes" to celebrate some Maglubiyet-centric festival coinciding with Samhain or some other harvest festival.

Jason N.

Giant pumpkin carriage mimic.

Jason N.

Scarecrow might skin well as a snowperson. It might even be comical if it kept the pumpkin head for both.

Raymond Nichols

Also, consider this the official suggestion for the pumpkin golem. And the Pumpkin Spice Latte witch.

Daryl

Ooh that's a great idea!

Carrie Brady

Wow these are already really good ideas! I was also going to suggest more witches of various ages/races/styles, and some kind of pumpkin creature. Ages ago, when City of Heroes was relatively new (I know, reaching way back here), they did a Halloween event with bad guys that had bodies made of vines and heads that were jack o lanterns. They called them Fir Bolg, even though that has nothing to do with any version of the Fir Bolg I know of otherwise. I just know they were really cool looking and I've been wishing there were versions of those monsters in more games.

Carrie Brady

Another option could be a those who are typically monsters (were-creatures, vampires, ghosts, etc) attempting to pass as a normal being for the holiday (a vampire dressed as a commoner but not sure on how to convey that...). Or what about kids dressed as baddies and wreaking havock as the nemesis for the one shot ("Why are the [insert baddie here] terrorizing our small town?"). It would be a light-hearted mini for sure, but would be useful for those running a campaign for kids/ those who aren't into "horror". And with that I think I'm done suggesting. Thank you for the opportunity to offer suggestions for such a great upcoming (set) of minis.

Preston Phillips

(Discussion: Do they have do disappear? Will they at least remain on your "web shop" for subscribers to fetch when we need them?)

Daryl

Headless horseman!! With its flaming head carried on his hand!! And it would be seasonal costume for a normal horseman, or mounted knight!

Ariel Sosa Visconti

Costume and/or entirely new miniature, I'm hoping to get some good ideas for both!

PrintableHeroes

As others have said, a skeletal horse would be awesome (by itself or with a rider), skeletal animals (wolves to follow werewolves for an interesting "why haven't they eaten the bones?" situation).

Preston Phillips

Would love to see Warlock/Witch familiars! Rats, cats, imps, etc

Does it have to be a costume? Or can it be a whole creature? Potion Press made a Halloween adventure and the main bad guy is something called a Gourdkin, that would be an amazing mini.

Anniek.

Dullahan on a nightmare or skeletal warhorae! (Headless horseman), pumpkin flameskulls,

James Clark

Bugbear with a sheet poorly draped over it so its a ghost.

Non-human skeletons! I.e. dwarf, halfling, tiefling, dragonborn!

James Clark

Skeletal rider.

Stephen Hart

Some ghost versions of humanoid minis would be cool! And a more classic sheet ghost.

Emily Payeur

Hobbits as goblins idk

Guigreen

Vampire with a nosferatu skin

Josh malone

Witches are underrated so I think you're heading in the right direction. 😄
