Month End Post: August 2025 Wrap-Up

August is just about wrapped up, and for the Northern-hemisphere-inhabitants, we’re weeks away from the first day of fall! We are about to be in full-swing Now & Forever mode, so make sure to soak up the sun while you still can. Soon, leaves will be falling, sweaters will be worn, and SOUP SEASON WILL BE HERE‼️

Let’s take a peek at what GB and the team accomplished in August, and then dive into September’s plans, shall we? 🌞

Monthly Content Summary

This month, GB hosted the first event in her new public Q&A series. If you missed this one, no worries! On the second Sunday of every month, she’ll be answering your questions in our Tumblr inbox. She’ll respond to as many as she can, but may be limited in either quantity or topic (some longer fanfic-inspired questions may be passed over for the sake of time). This month, she jumped into game lore, the history of the studio, what it takes to start one, and so many other never-before-mentioned details. 

On the 29th, Beta Build 1.4.20 was released! It includes several fundamental and “Quality of Life” (QoL) fixes. 🎉

It was a bit of a slower month overall, as both myself and GB had a few out of office days. She hasn’t been feeling well lately, and had to take some unexpected time off as well. So, this blog may be a bit shorter than normal, but I can promise you that she is hard at work, making up for lost time as you read this. 

Script Progress:

GB didn’t quite wrap up the Moments she was planning to this month, due to her recovering from an illness. She lost a few days of work here, but still got a great amount of writing done. Nonetheless, a milestone was passed: She finished drafting Moment #8! 

Programming & Art Progress:

For programming: The Step 2 prologue is almost wrapped up. Just a bit of work left to do there, which GB has her eyes on and will have wrapped up shortly.

For art: Super fun – more emotes for texting were drawn! We are well on our way to a full set of emoji options for you to send to your Golden Grove crew.

Also, the first batch of backgrounds for the high school scenes were drawn! We’ll be walking through the halls and stealing glances from our lockers before we know it. ☺️

One last note: 

For non-patrons reading this, the month-start Patreon blog (coming tomorrow) will include the link to the transcript to the Patreon Q&A. In the past, GB recorded herself answering questions from patrons and provided a transcript of the event – these were only available to patrons. Now, we’re shifting to a different set-up: patrons will still be the only ones to ask questions and receive the recording, but the general public will now have access to the transcript. All of this to say – something new is on the way tomorrow!
