Here you can ask me things you're wondering about for our games or company and they'll be answered at the end of the month an an audio recording (with a text transcript too). Just make sure the questions long follow the guidelines!
The thread will close after the 19th.
Guidelines:
1. Please don't reply to other people's questions even if you know the answer. The fun of joining a Q&A is that the developer can give a direct response to you and that everyone else also gets to hear/see the answer in the end of the month post. Having another player resolve the question in the comments right here might not be what the asker was hoping for. This thread is more about having a good time rather than looking for an immediate response to an important question. And if you do have a question you want to hear about right away, it's best to ask in some other thread or to message me directly.
2. I'm afraid questions about what scenes/choices/art assets Our Life: Now & Forever will include aren't answerable right now. Most of the details are decided as the game is created and currently I'm only writing Step 1. I do know some things coming later, but only a small fraction of the whole game.
3. The questions can't be about more serious/potentially upsetting topics because I don't want those listening to suddenly be surprised with something they might not have been prepared for/want to be confronted with.
4. Please keep the questions here to things that wouldn't be really hard to tackle in an off-the-cuff, spoken out loud kind of Q&A, aha. Questions about a half dozen characters or wanting an entire theoretical situation described aren't super doable in this situation.
You can always send me questions outside of the audio Q&A if they wouldn't work here!

If the MC didn’t speak English very well, do you think Omi and Opa would help them learn it since (If I remember correctly) their from Germany there for their first language notes being English? This goes with the Lins to since their close to Opal. 2. Will there be a moment in each step that will focus on the MC and Opals relationship. 3. Will it ever be mentioned if you dyed your hair in steps 2-4 a different color then the hair color you had in step 1? And for my last question, will there be options to say you wear a necklace, bracelet or ring like in Beginnings and Always?

How would a 20-21 year old Lynn react if he was told he had or was gonna expect a child with, I don't know, some rando. We just won't think about why, how or when it would happen, it's a hypothetical after all. 2. How strict would Lynn be with his child? Are there any specific rules he would definitely enforce? 3. Is there anything specific that motivated Lynn to work at SSB? 4. What would Lynn's and Marigold's wedding be like? Would it be a small gathering with very close friends and family? Any overarching theme they'd go with? (Cough plants cough) 5. Is there anything that sparked Lynn's interest in plants or did it simply just randomly become a passion of his? 6. What was the longest relationship jerklynn had and why did it last longer than some other's? Would there be a way to somehow persuade him into dating you longer or is it just unavoidable? 7. (In a universe where JB and Lynn are the same/similar age) If JB somehow managed to make jerklynn crush on her long enough for them to get togheter when he's less of a jerk, would JB enjoy being in the relationship? Would she have a cute nickname for him like she does with the guys in XOD? Any ideas on what the cute nickname could be? 8. Last question, i swear. Does Lynn celebrate Valentine's Day? Did he enjoy it when he was younger? Does he and Marigold celebrate it in any way? That's all the questions for this month! I hope you're doing well and progress on the games goes as smooth as possible!

2025-02-16 05:07:29 +0000 UTCwell, i might as well ask all the questions i wrote down beforehand (and maybe thought of just now). sorry if they've been asked before, i'm not great at keeping up with these. these questions mostly pertain to the leads of OL1+2 unless otherwise specified, and you can include the XOXOD leads if it's not too much. if it's too hard to answer or is against the guidelines, i would understand if you skipped it. 1. how would the leads feel about an MC that is a baker, more specifically, how would they react to an MC that always or is willing to bake them food, or shows their love by giving them baked goods they made? 2. how would they react to music with um... very not family friendly and questionable lyrics? would they react normally or be weirded out or something? examples, maybe megan thee stallion or doja cat, or slayyyter. just the kinda music that sounds good but the lyrics are a lil too nsfw. 3. you can skip this one if it's too much of a spoiler, but i was just wondering when's the earliest you can regard either of the leads in OL2 as family. 4. how would they react to or feel about an MC that likes to... party a little too hard most days, maybe even every day? or an MC who is a public nuisance? or maybe just one who fights a lot? or acts very dramatically in public? (i know this isn't just ONE question... but they all relate to each other, so it counts, yeah?) 5. kinda related to the previous question, but how would they react to someone always trying to fight with or bothering the MC? 6. why'd you have to go and make everyone so charming and awesome?! /lh (this is not in a bad way at all, i love them all (maybe baxter a lil too much)) 7. how would they react to an MC who is a youtuber or social media influencer? anyway, sorry this was a bit long and thank you for your time! (i totally didnt ask all of these and looked forward to hearing details specifically about baxter /hj (i totally was)) you're my favorite game dev, so just knowing that you will read this makes me happy enough!

2025-02-14 18:58:27 +0000 UTChi kab! i hope you and everyone else at gb patch is doing well so far! :) i have a few questions and almost all of them are about baxter WEJSDSMD 1. since we got to see what qiu, tamarack, and renee dressed up as for halloween, do you have any ideas on what baxter would dress up as? 2. it was mentioned in the mixed up moment that qiu and (i think) renee have visited baxter's house before, and i was wondering how that went down with his parents considering they ... suck lmao did they (as in qiu and renee) even see baxter's parents at all or? 3. i'm wondering how baxter's parents were with him having to go off to college, especially since they're so protective/controlling of him and they seemed to have an issue (for lack of a better term lol) with him not coming home for summer vacation during his step 3. also, were they like annoyed/concerned over the possibility of him bringing people over, especially considering the shenanigans he got up to in high school lmao also, this is sort of unrelated, but i noticed during the mountains moment, baxter refers to the mc as his friend to his mom rather than his girlfriend/boyfriend/partner, which i think is so interesting sdjfdsmf is there a reason as to why he does that? 4. for fanfic purposes (again), and this might be quite the odd question, but if baxter's family had like house staff, what did they call him? like was it mr. ward or something else? 5. and finally, in the spirit of valentine's day, how would the ol1 LIs act on valentine's day? like what would they do with their partner and what would they get them and stuff like that? thanks for taking the time to answer! keep up the great work!! 🫶🏽

How would the OL LIs act around a pregnant MC (only the adult LIs, of course)? Like, would they be the types to worry a lot, dote on the MC or something else entirely? Like milk/white/dark, or even another type of desserts. 2. I saw the 5th grade quiz post earlier and I'm wondering if there'll be things like that in later steps as well because it's kind of a really funny mechanic to me. 3. For the steps, for the transition from Step 3 to Step 4, I'm wondering if you have planned for there to be a mechanic where it questions if our personality has changed in between those years or something similar to what's currently in the Step 1 to Step 2. In the previous Q&A you said Baxter wouldn't wear makeup, but that he'd let his partner practice on him if they wanted. And I'm curious - would he agree to apply makeup on his partner, and would he be good at it if he did (or like, if he isn't at first, would he be willing or interested in learning / could he get into it)? And would it be different if it's just casual day to day makeup vs it being for very public appeareances, assuming he gets good enough at it (asking cause my MC is a singer and so would wear more makeup when appearing in public)? I've always assumed Qiu's was in autumn, hence the name, but then i that could be strange with the start of the game. I also always assumed Tamarack's was in spring since her parents named her after a tree. 2. Is there a specific meal the OL2 characters really love? Like a comfort food they might eat on those cold days. If so, does it change between Steps?

Since Derek is the only person who has a crush on MC by default, I was wondering what made him develop feelings for MC at that age in step 2? Does he think MC is cool/cute/nice, was it a general crush, etc? He's so sweet and kind and I enjoyed hanging with him along with the cast in step 2 so it was something I'm curious about.

I don't know if you've mentioned this in a past Q&A or not, but if Qiu were to become a parent later in the future, what would they want to be called by their child? Some people prefer just their name, others are fine using the gendered term for their child since it's easier for the kid to understand in the early days, or is it a unique gender neutral term that Qiu comes up wtih (like Baba or something) 2. You answered a questions about how Cove would be if their partner was famous (he'd be supportive but wants to keep his relationship private). I wanted to know how Qiu and Tamarack would handle having a famous parnter, as well. 3. My OL2 MC really likes figure skating, and just to feed my daydreams, I wanted to know the Step 1 & 2 LI's opinion of it, if they'd be willing to get out on the ice just for kicks, what'd their skill level be (are they bumbling around or are they just...fine?), and which of them would be the more coordinated one on there (even by just a smidge).

(Tamarak asking MC if they are friends, realizing MC has a crush during one of the moments, setting best friends etc.) Will this be available in the later steps, too? Like MC and Q/T becoming friends again during Step 2 after growing distant between the Steps.

I thought she was so beautiful that I caught myself almost LITERALLY DROOLING! I almost fell over! I try to be a chill guy about things like these,but I was so surprised that I had to ask:how can you make art this beautiful?! (And after that almost fanatic sounding question) Second question:how you doing? I didn't have any important question for the Q&A,but I still couldn't let this Chance to praise your art pass!
