[Art] Rough Stuff for Chapter 1~!

Hello dearies!

Today we’re taking a look at how I started work on Chapter 1, reworking all the CG scenes. And it all starts with some rough sketches.

It was nice to see all the old images in one place and see everything we did before. I was excited to try and draw them again and see how much I had improved!

I made a bunch of thumbnail images for each major scene for Chapter 1, trying out various poses and camera angles to see what I could improve on from the originals.

Doing all the thumbnails at the same time was helpful, because I could see them all together and make sure they were all varied. I didn’t want to have too many repeating poses or angles. Variety is important!

I’d then run them all by Zuri and we’d sit down and figure out which ones we liked best so that I can start cleaning them up.

We generally prioritize them by order of appearance in the story, when cleaning them up. They will also get lines and color in that order too, before moving on to the next batch.

I ended up redrawing each one several times, trying to get them to look really nice. Sometimes, I have to redraw them again entirely, because we realize something afterwards. Like the original Kareen Crash scene, which was too similar to Kareen sitting on the bed in the Prologue. Now it’s her booty instead!

I’m happy with how they’ve turned out. They still need lots of tweaking and refinement, but I really liked starting out chapter work this way. I think I’ll do the same thing for Chapter 2 once we start on it!
