[News] "Limp" Drive Failure!

Today… Buka Chan’s working hard drive failed, and a lot of data was lost. Meaning we lost some files for Paizuri University. 

First, the bad news. What did we lose?

• The Bonus Scene “Bourbon Babes” art for Chapter 3. These will need to be re-done meaning it may not make it into the next Patreon release.
• 90% of the high-res working Character Avatar files. Meaning adding new emotions for existing avatars will be a pain. 
• 90% of the high-res working background, pop-in frames and cutscenes files.

Now, what’s the good news?

Everything we’re doing right now, is still doable. 

The character avatars we do have in game are high enough quality to rework for new emotes for existing characters. 

Backgrounds can also be reworked, although they won’t be as high quality as they could be (we were going to do a 1080p pass, but looks like thats out for now).

Pop-in frames are also high enough in release, that we can rework them if we need to.

Cutscenes are already at 1080p in release, so we can recover workable versions from those if we need to.

Much of Chapter 4 is unaffected by this, since we’re just getting started on it. And the concept work that is in game for Chapter 4 at the moment is good enough to build the final art off.

And lastly, thanks to Patrons support this month, we were also able to quickly get Buka Chan a new hard drive and get them back up to speed.

So we’re not screwed. But we are a little annoyed that it happened!

It may be a setback in time, but we’ll be working hard these next few weeks to make up the difference. Just don’t expect too many extra posts this month while we try to recover (we’re sorry T_T”~) !

Also, Zuri Sama is finding out how to recover the files from the drive, since recovering these files would be a little hard to explain... ...with any luck, we'll get most of it back. *fingers crossed*
