[Troubleshooting] Paizuri University!
Added 2018-03-04 02:24:47 +0000 UTCWe're starting to get a few more bug reports on similar issues, so we decided to just make a trouble shooting post to put all the common issues in here so people can easily fix them! Yay! ^^
If you are encountering issues that aren't listed here, leave a comment below, or in the community section, and make sure you tell us what system you're running (Win, Mac, Linux etc.) so we can do some digging to figure it out what's wrong and post a solution for you.
If you encounter any issues in-game, let us know what scene you were in and what you did so that we can repeat it to help us fix it.
Thank you!
We hope this page helps you!
Installation Issues
- Make sure you have 7-zip installed (or equivalents).
- Remember to delete your previous install before extracting. This won't affect your save games as they are stored in a different location.

Linux Issues
- Black Screen #1 - Run Paizuri University in "Full Screen" by checking off "Windowed" in the config window when you run the game. You can also do this by setting the Launch options in Properties to have the command below, or modifying "prefs" and setting "Screenmanager Is Fullscreen mode" to zero.
-screen-fullscreen 0
NOTE: We can't test Linux versions because we don't have a Linux distro running. If you encounter issues or solve them, please let us know cause you'll be helping other Linux users.
WebGL Issues
General Tips
- Make sure WebGL is supported and enabled for your browser. Sometimes it’s not enabled by default. If you don’t know how to do this, google it, and be a savvy searcher!
- If your system doesn’t support WebGL, you won’t be able to play the game. Try the Standalone versions instead.
- Close other tabs. This will reduce memory usage of your browser to free it up to be used by the game.
- Disable Ad Block. There are no ads on this game but GameJolt will hang and cause the game to not load. So make sure it’s disabled.
- Disable Script Blocking. Same deal as above.
- Make sure cookies are enabled. Unity WebGL games use cookies to store save game information. Though there is no saving in WebGL versions, we do store changes to the game options.
- If you have a bad connection or download is slow, it may take some time for some resources to download. Just be patient.
- Clearing your browser cache will force the game to download resources again and may fix missing image issues.
- If your screen resolution is too low. You can always Zoom Out in your Browser window. Just remember to Reset it after you’re done.
Chrome
- Check that your Chrome Content Settings are set so that cookies and JavaScript is allowed.
- Check that "System > Use hardware acceleration when available" is checked On. It will be greyed out if your system does not support it.
Chrome is also an odd one out. It works for some people, but doesn’t work for others. It works on other sites, but not on other ones (even though they’re the exact same version). Chrome… confuses us.
Firefox
- Make sure third party cookies are enabled in Firefox by going to "Options > Privacy > Accept Cookies" from sites and set Accept third-party cookies to "Always" (or just include an exception for the website you’re trying to play on).
403 Forbidden Error
This is likely due to cookies not being enabled for your browser.
If they are enabled and you are still getting the error, it may be a site access issue. 403 errors in browsers are specifically a web hosting error, which is completely out of our hands.
