It’s been a scorching January. With several really crazy days of hot heat, and not the fun kind either! But we sweated through them and managed to get a heap of stuff done!

Zurizuri Engine

The Zurizuri Engine got a major upgrade last month.

• Brand new character avatar system.
• Support for shader effects on Character Avatars.
• Support for animated Character Avatars.
• Support for props that can attach to Character Avatars using new Anchor System.
• Support for shader effects on Props.
• Brand new Character Avatar Editor Tool for faster setup.
• Upgraded the Background System.
• Support for transition effects on Backgrounds.
• Support for special shader effects on Backgrounds.
• Support for scrolling backgrounds for different sized images.
• Support for scrollable scenes in Adventure Mode.
• BGM can now crossfade.
• Basic Support for Live2D.
• Build pipeline improvements.
• Debugging and Editor Tool improvements.
• A crap load of bugs got fixed.

What’s Next?

It’s Paizuri University’s one year BIRTHDAY! Yay! So that means Buka Chan will be drawing something a little extra for everyone to celebrate this month, so expect a poll soon involving cake and Paizuri Characters!

We’ll also be returning to our regular release schedule for this month now that the major parts of the Zurizuri Engine have been upgraded.

Buka Chan is, as usual, progressing through all the art. Turning the rough concept pieces into finals and preparing a few for animation. Some new Character Avatars are also on the agenda!

Zuri Sama is in the process of drafting Chapter 4 to help with making some final dialogue tweaks in Chapter 3. 

Some new side stories are also being drafted up too. So Adventure mode will get some more attention this month.

We’ll also be working on some new backgrounds together.

The loading screen is getting updated, because it really needs one, along with a few other UI stuff.

So you can expect some more story, more art and polishing this month! Also, we’ll be trying to squeeze a public release in there somewhere.
