[Progress Dump] December & 2017!

Happy New Year!!! ^^

With 2017 over, we’re going to do a short summary of everything we did last year.

And what a year it has been!

• The Creation of the Zurizuri Engine!
• 11 Unique Scenery Backgrounds
• 18 H-Scenes including 9 of them turned into animated cutscenes.
• 14 Unique Characters with 57 emotion variants in total.
• A brand new minigame.
• A whole bunch of sounds and music!
• Dialogue for the Prologue, Chapter 1, Chapter 2 and now Chapter 3 adding up 60+ pages worth of writing or 1+ hours of gameplay.
• $2855 in support raised from 90+(ish) wonderful Patrons over the last year.

And there is still more to come! (ho ho ho : 3).

Engine

• New Backlog system. Keep track of the previous conversation. (WIP)
• Minor Character Avatar improvement (depth sorting).
• Code cleaning and organization.
• Minor bug fixes.

What’s next?

It’s a new year! Therefore new things! So we’re planning to do even more!

Zuri Sama has a great deal of freedom this month (a super rare event)! This month, they’re giving Zurizuri Engine it’s next upgrade to step up the quality and let us do even more in Paizuri University.

The Character Avatar System is being upgraded to support more customization and animations. This will take some of the load off Buka Chan from having to create so many emotion variations, and give us a chance to add more life into the character during dialogue through animation!

The Background System is also getting an upgrade. Adding support for clickable areas, and scroll-y zoom-y features so you can inspect new images more closely ; ). This will give Buka Chan an opportunity to draw different sized images outside the standard ones you’ve been seeing. 

These upgrades are also closely tied to Adventure mode, which will give us more to play with when expanding on it a little this month.

Zuri Sama has spent the past week doing tests and cleaning code, so a lot of these changes are well in progress. They just have to figure out how to put it into the Engine without breaking everything. 

With all these changes Buka Chan’s art will shine! Which they’ll be continuing to work on and show off progress in art-y posts this month too.

It’s a lot of stuff! And we rarely have an chance to do these sorts of upgrades. And being such a big upgrade, it does mean we may only be able to get 1 release out this month. BUT hopefully everything we’re doing this month is exciting enough that it's not too bad!
