*mumble mumble* So I ask Bukacain to draw me a title and this is what I get!?!
Err...
Hello everyone,
While Bukacain has been improving their super sexy art style. I've been doing some writing, and improving the Zurizuri Engine.
For a while now, we've been bumping into a problem of having to read and re-read scenes in-game, or play the game to get to certain points to figure things out, in a really really inefficient manner.
Usually we just refer to the draft, but once a scene goes in-game, it's likely to be completely different. So playing the game over and over again is necessary.
And sometimes, it's really fricken annoying and frustrating. >: (
So for last week I worked on some necessary tools needed to help take away some of the frustration and make it easier for us.
First was in-game debugging, which lets us jump to where we want to while the game is running. It's not pretty, but it does what it needs to.

Next, I made an in-editor Script Viewer which lets us see an overview of entire scenes, their flow and any other important information like characters entering, backgrounds and variables. A big time saver for both of us.

The next one was a personal gripe of mine, which was converting the Draft into Z-Script which had to be done manually. Now, it's done automatically using the Draft Converter. It turns the story draft into Z-Script code at a click of a button.
And lastly, documentation support was added for Z-Script. Z-Script has grown a lot since we've started and remembering everything was becoming a bit a of a problem. I'd have to dig through code sometimes to find the command or it's values because I couldn't quite remember exactly the thing I needed to type. A real time killer.
Now, it's being documented as I use them, so if I forget, I only have to forget once, write the documentation and poof, I can easily look it up next time when I need to. No more bad memory!

And that's it!
After using them all this weekend we're a little less frustrated, so it's already making a difference. Which is great! It means more time for us to focus on the naughty things he he he...
...
I hope you found that BORING, Buka chan! >: |
