[Progress Dump] April
Added 2017-04-30 23:53:56 +0000 UTCLast month flew by, as we made good progress on Paizuri University.
So what did we get up to in April for Chapter 1?
- We added a new Credits Screen for our awesome Jug Patrons, appearing between the lovely boobs of Kareen and Evelyn.
- The first Animated scene was added in version 0.2.0, the "Evelyn Paizuri"!
- 2 finalized sexy scenes + a bonus one. "Kareen Crash" and "Evelyn Seduction"
- All 3D background line works are done! Just needs to be colored.
- Finalized "Campus Walkway" background.
- The release of Minor Build 0.2.0
- The release of Patch Builds 0.1.9, 0.2.3, 0.2.4
- The re-release of Paizuri University Prologue (1.3.0) with completely revised features, to Public and for Patrons. (link)
- Public downloadable releases for Paizuri University Prologue on GameJolt and itch.io.
- The first new character design for Chapter 2, The Chemist (art, nude).
- Cute 3D character design of Kareen for Chapter 2. (link)

The Zurizuri Engine went through some big changes in April too!
- Overhauled Loading System for better transitions between scenes.
- Brand New Gallery System which sorts the images by type and even lets you view animated cutscenes!
- Brand New Credits System.
- Preloading game content in WebGL for better load times in game.
- Optional In-Game Censoring to hide naughty bits.
- Optional Word Filtering which replaces certain naughty words and phrases in dialogue with euphemisms.
- A lot of little fixes and tweaks for better performance and user experience.
Adjustments were also made to the Patron reward tiers to bring more builds to Patrons! This has also helped us improve our build process and work out a few kinks... not that kind... although... rubs chin... uhh...
Last month there were a few bumps which slowed us down a little, but not by much. Like getting sick, missing a public release and eating chocolate.
We even trialled a new artist to help with getting backgrounds done quicker but it didn't pan out. Since that happened we decided to be clearer with our goals, changing our approach to the problem and re-focusing on what we do best.
We've decided that minimising complex background work and going with 3D gameplay, with the same Visual Novel elements we already have, is a better idea.
This will take the art load off Bukacain who has been feverishly finding time to finish everything (Poor Dear : ( ) and move some of it onto me (Zuripai Sama) for Chapter 2.
Going 3D also gives us a bit more freedom, letting us find ways to fit in more important content into Paizuri University more frequently ; ). It just means more story, naughty scenes and less complicated background work.
As for this month, what can you expect?
This month we are aiming to wrap up Chapter 1.
- Finalize the story (including the Bonus one).
- Finalize all the sexy scenes
- Do a sound pass.
- Do some polish all round.
- And get a public release out (damn it!)
Meaning...
Chapter 2 will be entering in at full spin! Yay!
As Bukacain finishes up all the art for Chapter 1, I'll be plowin' ahead finalizing parts of the story and getting the Zurizuri Engine requirements set up for Chapter 2, which is already underway.
So prepare yourselves for a mixed bag of exciting random goodies this month!
