Hey y’all,
This month we took some big steps with Memento, solving some complicated problems and adding some much-needed quality of life features not just for us, but for players too.
And here’s some of it.
BGM & Sound Support
We added sound and background music again. Woo!
Dialogue Rollback
We’ve added rollback support to dialogue. A much-needed staple in any visual novel style game.

It currently doesn’t let you remake choices, but you can scroll back and forth to read any dialogue you may have missed or accidentally clicked through.
Dynamic UI
We added dynamic UI again, but this time with better control over general UI and in-game choices.

Asset & Resource Management
We made some major updates to working with and managing large amounts of stuff. And the great thing is that it’s faster to load too.
Z-Script Cumpiling
Originally, Z-Scripts were loaded as text and then compiled at runtime. It often meant storing a lot of extra information and using a lot of extra memory.
But no more!
We now compile Z-Scripts in the editor, to reduce load times and memory usage when the game runs. Which is really important for Android devices!

And that’s it!
We’re super excited by the progress we’re making as we slowly piece it all together, and we can’t wait to put it to use in a full lewd production! We have a few more things to do before its ready to go and we’ll be sure to keep y’all updated.
We hope y’all excited and looking forward to what’s to come!
