Hey y’all,
This month I’ve had my hands full working out a bunch of things with Buka Chan, writing, and adding new features to the Zurizuri Engine. All as part of a major effort for something big coming (Fu fu fu…).
Here are a few things I’ve been up to lately.
We can now play videos in Zurizuri!

It’s only tested on Windows versions at the moment, and I still need to figure out how to make it work in WebGL, but the groundwork is there.
This will let us do a few short animations, like animated logos or backgrounds, in-game that we haven’t been able to do before! Yay~!
The WebGL version of Full Moon Night might take a little longer than expected, with a few issues that still need sussing out. But it’s almost there!
I’ve been upgrading our expression system. If you don’t know what it is, it’s the thing the lets us control branching stories and in-game values or even Stats ; )
I also set up automated tests to make sure that the expression system is always working the way I expect it to, which will help reduce bugs and make me worry less about it.

It has been a massive nerdy upgrade which I’ll spare you the rest of the details of, but it’s a significant step towards something much much bigger.

It’s not crazy exciting stuff, if anything, it’s mostly groundwork and nerd boners. But it’s all part of something much bigger, so we hope y’all at least a little excited about what might be coming.
And thank you to everyone who’s been taking the survey, your responses have been soooooo helpful~!! We can’t thank you enough~!
And if you haven't taken the survey yet. Here's the link. ; )
