Happy August Newsletter! 💌 drawing plans, my current book, + question for you ✏️✨

Hello everyone and welcome to a new month! 😍

It feels like July went by so quickly! It was my first month getting back into regular Patreon content after taking a break due to my hand injury, and I’ve loved being back at my desk again 🥰 I wanted to start the month by posting the artwork that I made in our newest tutorial about how to create dramatic lighting ☀️ I had so much fun filming that video for you guys!! Little Life Updates + My Current Read:

My birthday was this past weekend (which of course required an obligatory trip to Barnes & Noble) and I bought a book I’ve been dying to get my hands on for MONTHS 😍

It’s a debut book called Immortal Consequences, which follows the story of six dead teens who are competing at an academy in the afterlife for a chance to return to life or cross to the other side (but only one can win) 🤭🖤 There’s gothic vibes and enemies to lovers romance (basically the perfect October/autumn read, but idc we’re reading it NOW 😤)

All in all, it was a lovely birthday weekend 🥰 I finished a BIG commission (which I can’t wait to show you guys once I’m allowed!! 🤭) and we celebrated with coffee and macaroons, brunch with friends, and more bookstore trips 🎂🍰🧁

Best gift of all though was this print of Jinu 🤭🤭🤭

Drawing Plans:

Now that I’ve gotten some kpop demon hunters fanart out of my system, I’m going to get back to some book character art! This month I really want to draw some art for one of my favorite reads this year: The Knight and the Moth 🤍

Here’s a mood board with the vibes I’m envisioning! The book is darkly beautiful and I’m in love with the aesthetic of the female lead (her hair is silver and she wears a shroud over her eyes and a gauzy white dress, plus she’s a knight 🤭)
