=== Adrian's POV ===

Looking at the result of the attack, I was very satisfied.

Even though the amount of Divine Power I had spent on this attack had left me in a very weak position... I was able to recover it quickly.

=========================

| Character Status

=========================

| Name: Adrian Innovashine

| Titles: God of Creativity, God of the Internet

| Level: Rank 8 Embryonic Deity

| Number of believers: 460,474

| Average usage per user: 4 hours

|------------------------

| Divine Power: 1,969,071 / 1,280,000 -> 341,561 / 1,280,000 (-1,627,510)

=========================

I had lost over 1.6 million Divine Power points in just a few hours.

This included both the cost of creating the Great Dragon and the cost of protecting Jaina's spirit from the attacks of the God of Fear.

The cost of defending Jaina's mind alone was more than 600,000 Divine Power points, and that's considering that I was a few ranks above the God of Fear, and the natural defense of her mind also greatly reduced the Divine Power cost I had to use to defend her.

If she were an ordinary mortal, I would have had to spend a much higher amount!

But this high cost was really worth it!

The King of Eldoria's castle was destroyed, with everyone inside dying from the Dragon and Jaina's attacks, and the Church of the God of Fear was destroyed, completely demoralizing him to the people of Eldoria.

At this point, it would be nearly impossible for the God of Fear to reclaim Eldoria.

Especially after the attack on Jaina's mind had forced him to expend so much divine power.

The only way he could rebuild himself would be if he received prayers from believers who still thought they should pray to him once a week, or if he managed to control someone very powerful and influential in the kingdom to force people to keep praying for him.

But now that his greatest supporter, the King of Eldoria, was no longer alive to command anything in Eldoria, what would happen from now on was that the greatest nobles, mainly dukes, would start competing for the crown and to find out who would be the new ruler of Eldoria.

Of course, this would only happen if I or Arcantor let it happen, since we caused such destruction for the former king of Eldoria, what's to stop us from doing the same to the next king they decide on?

So the best thing to do now was to show the people that they were under Arcantor's control.

And I had a great way to do that.

Even if the cost of Divine Power was high, what was a fart to someone who was already drunk?

I'd already spent so much Divine Power on this attack that spending a few thousand more Divine Powers to get the best result wouldn't be anything.

So I quickly sent a message to Jaina's [Carrier Pigeon] while preparing for what I was about to do.

=== God of Fear POV ===

It was getting hard to breathe... tears fell from my eyes as I saw all my work of the past few days fall apart.

The mortals who I thought worshipped me were desperate with fear as they fled from the dragon flying over the city, not even thinking to pray to me to protect them...

The city, which I had only seen as a way to get free divine power, now caused a pain in my chest... a pain I couldn't explain.

Why? Why did I have to attack Arcantor?!

Why didn't I listen to the mortals' suggestion that I shouldn't?!

Did I really fall because of my own arrogance?!

Honestly... at that point, I just wanted to return my consciousness to my real body in the divine world and cry in my cabin.

My test was over, there was no way I could take control of Eldoria again.

Even if I could help some duke regain control, how could I invade Arcantor?!

I thought I was just attacking a defenseless target of some weak mortals and a random god, but in reality, I was running headlong into a solid wall, ready to knock me out...

As I looked at Eldoria for the last time, I was ready to leave the mortal world until I saw something appear in the city's sky.

In the sky, the face of the woman riding on the dragon's back appeared in a beautiful, delicate painting!

The size of this painting wasn't small, it was so large that I'm sure even mortals in the farthest reaches of the capital would be able to see it.

But the most surprising thing was not the image, but her voice coming out of the painting!

"Good afternoon, citizens of Eldoria, I am Jaina Proudstone, the third Archmage of Arcantor and the woman who rode the great black dragon that flew over and attacked the capital, destroying the King's castle and the Church of the God of Fear. A calm, cold, and powerful voice emerged from the image, startling me.

How is she doing this? Or rather, with this divine power coming from this image and voice, this is Adrian's work! How is he doing this?!

She continued. "As you can imagine, the king is dead. From now on, the royal family of Eldoria no longer exists, and that's only because your king decided to send an army to Arcantor to attack the innocent citizens of my kingdom."

"Now there is no royal family, and just like Arcantor, Eldoria will be the land of the God of the Internet, a kind and merciful God who uses his divine power to protect all believers who pray to him, from the richest believers, like nobles and mages, to the poorest believers, like citizens of small villages who just want to learn how to plant efficiently..."

At this point, the woman began to describe all the characteristics and qualities of the God of the Internet, describing everything he did for the people of Arcantor, even telling them about various things like the Internet and how he used his divine power to help ordinary people learn to read so that they could be freer and enjoy the Internet even more!

As she explained every detail about the God of the Internet and how good this God was for the people with all the innovations he had made, I became more and more sure that this God of the Internet was Adrian, the God of Creativity.

I just couldn't understand why he had changed his name...

When I heard about Internet applications and how people could get free information for an hour in exchange for just a prayer, my heart froze.

Doing some quick calculations, I finally realized why I had lost so badly in the Divine Power competition with Adrian...

Even if he used ten times as much Divine Power as I did to defend this mortal's mind, with the amount of Divine Power he gained in a day, which was probably more than double or even triple what I gained in a week, it was impossible for him to have less Divine Power than me...

Damn it...

How could he think of such a thing?!

When I thought about how everyone underestimated Adrian, including me, thinking that he was just a poor kid who ironically didn't have the creativity to make such a powerful deity shine... I could only laugh.

Laugh at our naivety and at how Adrian managed to hide so well in school.

Haha...

Hahahahaha...

HAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAA...

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!

Thinking about the arrogant face of that son of a bitch Zack Gale getting slapped in the face if he had to face Adrian made the laughter even more enjoyable.

Even though I didn't get along very well with Adrian, I never humiliated or mistreated him like Zack did all the time, so even if Adrian became too powerful, I wouldn't have to worry about my future because of his revenge.

But the same couldn't be said for Zack, who bullied Adrian all the time.

When I thought about all the times Adrian just sat back and took it and never fought back... when I thought about how satisfying that would be, I gave up on the idea of returning to the Divine World and giving up on the trial.

I guess it's not such a bad idea to stay in the mortal world and get some Divine Power Points from some unsuspecting believers while I just watch what happens in the future, right?

Even if I failed the test, there's no rush for me to become an ordinary soldier anyway.

So I just relaxed and listened to this mortal from Arcantor talking about the God of the Internet and explaining his prayer so that people could pray and believe in him.

Something that should have made me angry, but now just made me curious.

Curious about how it would end.

---

Little did I know at the time that my decision to continue watching Adrian's development in the mortal world would be the best decision I would make for the rest of my life.

What I thought was a great misfortune for me and my future career had actually become the great reason for my rapid future growth and for the good life and pride I would bring to my family the next time I saw them...

Hey guys, I think you can see where this is going, right?

Comment on ideas for apps developed by the God of Fear that could be useful for mortal Internet users XD

Comments

Thrillers! Scary movies for everyone! Adrian can let the god of fear make viruses in the internet that cost 0.1 divine power to make and .2 power to ward against and make a sort of feedback loop where they can increase prayers whenever someone prays for viruses and someone prays to protect there use of the internet. Also redbull challengea where you 'face your fears' and offer the experience to the god of fear through a video on the internet.

Sean

you know as the god of fear he could also take away fear of those that pray to him making them sort of courageous. also he could bless people to feel fear when danger is close giving them a sixth sense.

Andrew Mickle

Teaching children about dangerous things.

Mikael

Everyone already gave such great ideas! Thanks for this chapter!

Ymr

An app that deals with nightmares, or a self defense app to scare of monsters. The applications are endless if fear means like nightmares or conjured fear.

Jeremiah Arias

Dungeons! The lack of physical forces is the kingdom's greatest weakness, so why not have the god of fear create an app that will project dungeons full of scary things for people and imonsters to train in?

The butler did it

A self help app for facing your fears

Mike Rees

I'm flabbergasted that no one is talking about fear mongering on the news/social media. God of fear could be out here making fox news and play on everyone's fear

Jeremy Humphrey

The news, he makes the news. Spread fear with the truth. fear mongering

Jeremy Humphrey

Could be a cost of premium internet couns

Beeees!

Oooh thats a great idea

Beeees!

Perhaps some way to cause fear to wild animals to scare them away

Timspt8

more more more .. . . . .. . . . . ....

Divinenature

Dont forget Internet eat 0.5 divine point in level 1 of tier 1 god? And each level up are 5% discoubt when using divinity

lolman Meyt

I was thinking more like horror games and movies that actually increase your fear when you experience them for better immersion. But those ideas sound feasible too

A P

It sounds like he really is gonna turn from the god of fear to the god of the horror genre

A P

1.dungeon I imagine you plan on creating vr in the future? If so you could use his authority as the foundation for the virtual world. Since he can control people's fears, he can control their senses. So it should be possible to create virtual world within his "victims" minds. you can then use the connectivity authority of the internet to combine all their conscious into one. Thereby creating a massive shared illusion. And since he absorbs fear he can earn divine power through the games mechanics. Afterall fear is very broad, the fear of losing a match, rng not working etc. he can then given them some equipment as rewards using the creativity authority.

Secret Mage

1. An App to nullify Fear for a time. 2. An App that increases perception, retreat speed in moments of Fear. Fear is afterall a natural emotional and warns you from dangers and threats and makes you freeze and face it or run as fast as you can.

Alnatura

Wikipedia could be something to invest in, get a bunch of scholars together and pay them internet coins to put information into it

Fire_Fox2590

Aw thats nice. I mean, he is still a giant prick who sees mortal lives as basically worthless. But he is also just a kid with way too much power.

Fire_Fox2590

I highly disagree with this statement. I have an internal monolog where I talk to myself as if speaking to someone else near constantly, which often even turns into vocally talking to myself. And if one person, then many people. The world is a huge place, so I'd appreciate it if you'd not make generalized statements about everybody based on your own thought process.

Riley, Glutton of All the Foods

I Guessing he's going to start working with Adrian to develop Horror movies and the like?

Osamaru Ta

Yellow lanterna corp

[GLD]Guto

You need to have courage in order to be brave. Courage is the emotion associated with the act of bravery.

Saaski

1. For common people maybe some horror story app like others suggested. Later with video qnd sound he could create other horror media. 2. Could be used for training purposes as some kind of test your courage app with increasing amount of fear and horror. It could even show a high score list for the users with the most courage. 3. Other applications could be for attacking. Either by adding fear effects to exusting iMonsters or creating a new branch of horrror creatures. Or just create an uncontrolled Cthulhu and send it out to terrorize your enemies πŸ˜†.

RichΓ‘rd FΕ‘zΕ‘

More I need more

Dakota Morley

"If I were an ordinary mortal, I would have had to spend a much higher amount!" If she were an ordinary mortal

Apoca

"I think that a help app for people with trauma that helps reduce their anxiety would be beneficial."

Colin Hilterhaus

All that comes to mind is make the god of fear's avatar basically "Fiddlesticks" from LOL. He'll allow one to confront their fears, or he could be used as a "training" exercise for mages/warriors that are outmatched and hunted by a horrifying creature and how not to give in to the fear or learn how to keep calm/rational during great moments of stress especially when trying to defend their homes and such.

paladar blade

I like the idea of all the Deities contributing to the iMonsters

Saaski

iMonster of Courage!! πŸ˜‰

Saaski

Hello, thanks for the chapter I enjoyed it very much! As for ideas for apps developped by the god of fear , I can think of several key-points : 1) Horror Medias : games, films, books developped by the Internet God and imbued with the power of the god of fear so that the mortal users 'minds are intensely impacted = improved Internet Experience for users -> As for the business model, I would think that if a user usually pays 1 IC for a content, he can pay a premium fee of 2 IC to get the improved version instead with the fear god's powers. -> Usually Adrian gets 0.5 Divine power out of it with a cost of 0.5, But for the improved version he would get 1.5 to divide between him and the Fear god , which is better ? 2) A Killing Intent / Fear Aura Training app : By paying IC, Users can get training sessions where they endure increasingly strong mental attacks -> Normal Users get increased mental proficiency = ability to pray more times per day ? -> Warrior users develop the passive ability (or buy a skill) to release a fear aura on the battlefield. With the power increasing through training with the app and the cost of activation correspondingly increasing like for IMonsters 3) Fear God section in the blessing shop I really enjoy your story so fan-ideas are coming to me in droves ahah

Mathieu

Maybe for the Magic-/Knight-Students, an App that lets them face their worst fear like the Boggart of HP. For Mental-strength development or something.

jonah suer

While horror games is an obvious answer, something like a β€˜Fear God’s Gacha’ where people can pay for a chance to win something with a downside of being scared if they lose, sounds more intriguing to me🀷

Dave

Clearly this will result in 2 types of apps, the first will be apps to purposely scare yourself like horror games/stories, and the 2nd will be apps to reduce fear to create a pseudo bravery effect. I say Bravery and not courage cause bravery is often a state of fearlessnesa but courage is facing your fears. Also courage is bravery and action whereas bravery doesn't need the action

Ray Thompson

horror games

Blizzzr

Well... there is a large market for horror stories, horror films, and horror games IRL... Five nights at Freddy's being an example. People go to haunted house type attractions as well. I can imagine an app where you could face your fears like exposure therapy. I can also imagine an app that allows you to feel fear just for the thrill of it, because someone would probably use that. In terms of a practical use, maybe some kind of self defense app against monsters and wildlife? People use highly potent pepper spray as bear repellant, so maybe have an app that causes people, monsters, or animals who intend to do harm to you to feel intense fear? It could even work as insect repellant I'd imagine since putting the fear of the fear god into a mosquito probably wouldn't be that difficult. And I'd imagine having an insect repellant app would be very popular. You could do a similar thing for farm pests. You don't want mice in your granary? With this app, all the mice will run away screaming. Your fields have birds coming down to eat your crops? This app puts the scare back into scarecrow. Those are just some ideas. I'd imagine that if the plan is to have an alliance with the fear god, there would have to be a new prayer that would give them faith from people using the app. Anyways, that's my take on the matter. I'm sure other people will have some great ideas as well. Hope this helps.

TheLostGolem

im not sure how to answer that firstly how is he going to gain divine power from this app? is it gonna be like a contract for example goi gets 70% while gof gets 30%? also video games and videos aren't going to be a thing for awhile since the divine power cost is excessive novels are a good start but horror novels especially in a medieval like world are not gonna have a great start this is just my thoughts right after reading might need a bit more time to ponder before i give a good answer

Akgus

Internal monologues are not your forte, clearly. The way he spoke to himself was very cringe, internal monologues are not that difficult to do, just think about how someone in real life would react to a similar situation. Would they talk to themselves, or just feel stuff and react. Most people don't have an internal monologue, and even then, they don't talk in sentences as if they are talking with someone, it's more conceptual with ideas and emotions over words.

Aurelian_

Scare and prank your friends app.

Fishywars

Scary stories? A protection app that if you use points it could send out a burst of fear to dissuade attack. An app that tracks frightened people during emergencies so they can be saved. An app that blasts people with fear so they can increase their willpower and Mental defence. A fear based iMonster?

PIEGURU8

Not quite an app but can he scare away monsters from livestock? Or even just a super effective scarecrow for fields?

Blueberry

First thought, author some books in the horror and thriller genre! Once we get the Waves Goddess on-board, a three-way collaborative project could bring horror movies to this world! As a possible tangential benefit, maybe an app called "Face Your Fears" that allows people to directly pray to the Fear God, and gain access to a fragment of his power to work as a sort of therapy session for overcoming phobias and traumatic experiences. Maybe it comes with a fast-track scenario for if you use it during a fight, it works like a minor blessing for an hour?

Gilded Goblin

I smell a deal.

CheeseGrater

Tyftc.... fear factor
