"What did you find out?" I asked Remy while we were changing clothes on top of the building we left our backpacks.
"Those guys knew very little, besides being very stubborn. The only thing I could find was the address of the Scientists Guild headquarters." Remy said.
"Hmm, that's good, at least we'll have a place to start." I said as I finished putting the clothes I used inside the backpack.
"Oh man, I forgot to tell you. My father went back to the city." Remy said as he put the backpack on his back after taking off his overcoat too.
"Oh, really? Is everything okay?" I asked curious about his father since to train Remy like this, the man must fight very well.
"Yes, he decided to take some time off after the last mission he received. I commented on you to him, of course, I didn't tell him any secrets, I just said that you were stronger than a normal person and that you learned very quickly, just like the things you told your parents. He got very interested in you and called you to come over for dinner tomorrow, do you want to go?" Remy said trying to stay calm, but I could tell he was a little nervous. Was that the first time any of his friends were in his house?
"Sure! I think it'll be fun. We can use tomorrow to prepare for the invasion at the Scientists Guild." I answered with a little smile, which left Remy relieved.
After I said goodbye to him as I got off the bus, I walked quietly along the way until I got home, Krypto this time came running to play, but not as excited as before. This time he just came along and walked beside me while I talked to him about my day, since I knew he could understand me.
Seeing his tail wagging back and forth when I told him about the exciting parts made me laugh several times.
"Good night, Dad, good night, Mom." I said it a little loud when I came into the house.
"Good night John, come up here, I have a surprise for you!" My father screamed from upstairs in a clearly excited voice.
When I went upstairs, I saw my mother looking into my room with a curious look. I kissed her cheek and when I looked in the room my eyes sparkled.
My father was lying under the table while trying to connect some cables, on top of the table a retro computer was turned off.
"Father... is that a computer?" I asked with stars in my eyes. Even if I had a higher strength than an ordinary human, being born into a family of scientists made technology a component of my blood. Just seeing a computer in front of me has made my heart race.
"Hey John, yeah, that's a Macintosh. My friend Carl has a computer store and he recommended this computer to me. At first, I was not interested, but when I remembered that you said that your parents were scientists I thought you might like it. He said as he got up from under the table and pressed the computer's power button.
Hearing what he said made my heart warm again. Normally it would be very difficult to live with two people you have just met, but appreciate that we are made for each other. I believe that my parents from Krypton are still alive somewhere like me, and I will surely find them someday, but my parents from the Earth will always have a place in my heart as well.
The computer screen that looked more like a box started turning on and I could see a loading screen. That computer probably didn't even have 0.00000000001% of the processing capacity that my computer had in Krypton, but that was only a matter of time. Little by little, I could use the concepts I knew about Krypton to be able to upgrade that computer to make it as good as my computer in Krypton. "Thank you." I said as I gave my father a little hug.
"Don't worry, go test it, I can tell by your eyes you're crazy about it! It may not be as good as what you had in your house, but for now, this is one of the best we have here". He said a little sad.
"Don't worry Dad, I can make him more powerful over time, don't worry, I'm very happy." I said as I sat in my chair and started trying to understand how this computer worked.
Apparently his power was as weak as his appearance, the operating system was extremely easy to handle, but from what I could see, he was still a little bad optimized.
When my parents left, I opened his CPU and started looking at the parts. I did some tests with the computer on and started getting some ideas of what it does to make the computer more powerful.
When I felt the sun begin to rise I finally realized that I had spent the whole night working on the computer. I didn't have a lot of things to do about the pieces for now, but if someone turned on the computer now, they wouldn't think for one second that it was a Macintosh.
The operating system had been completely reprogrammed using my much higher speed, now having an even more intuitive, simple and objective interface. The computer processing had also become almost twice as useful after being optimized to the maximum.
My father said yesterday that today while I was in school a man would come to install the internet, but I also didn't have much hope of having something very useful from the internet for now with such weak computers, but just knowing that I will be able to research anything I want to know about the planet on the internet I was already excited again.
If I could learn faster than a normal human when it comes to combat, the speed I learn and adapt to technology is far superior. My head has already started working on several possibilities of things for me to do and improve the computer, besides useful things that I could manufacture to help me in the future, but this was still far away with this current technology, I will take one step at a time, maybe up to ten steps if I compare with others, but I will not be in a hurry.
Since I didn't sleep at night, before showering I left home and sat in the sun with Krypto to do some photosynthesis and recharge my batteries. This skill was really useful at those times, I wonder what I could do after spending years absorbing this strength.
