Artist Vs. Artist

Did someone steal your sweet rolls? Don't worry, I've got a treat hotter than the fires of Oblivion, and only twice the calories. It's Saint vs. Brandon, in the first ever installment of Artist vs Artist. Are you curious about how we did it?

Of course you are! At least a little, or you wouldn't be enjoying this article!

To guide Saint along, I created the "Oblivion Gate" painting on his body in different stages, while he re-created it on me in his art style! Want a close up? Let's dive in!

With a gate this beautiful, why would you want to close it! I say keep it open!

By the way, if you have no idea what I'm referring to, this series is based on a high fantasy role playing game series that goes by "Elder Scrolls". You may have heard of "Skyrim". This was this prequel! They recently remastered the game, so I want to create some artwork inspired by it!

Here is an earlier stage of the artwork! We only had a handful of hours to create this, but we both walked away happy with the results! So you're probably wondering... what do I look like?

I'm going to go in reverse this time, starting with the beginning and working my way toward the end. Sound good? Here is the start:

You can see his technique is really nicely done here, with a similar fire like appearance, and nice particle effects to help it feel lively.

Doesn't it look like I'm holding some sort of magic here?

I'm not sure why I decided to wear a hat here, but it's giving very Space Cowboy

Also I'm super sorry if this post wakes some of you up! I wanted to get it out earlier, but I'm juggling a few projects, and editing got pushed to the end of the day.

At this point, I'm wrapping up the post and it just hit 11pm here!

But not before I show off these gorgeous midnight roses Saint painted on my stomach!

What do you think of our two Oblivion Gates? Cool to see it in different art styles right?

Also did you notice the wicked background! That was painted for this project!

Side note: I trained a few weeks by swimming, walking, and dancing my way into getting fitter!

Finally, I'll be painting again later this month for All Queer Shakespeare's Pride Faire! If you want to attend, use the code Pride20 for 20% off tickets. Would love to see you there! <3

Art + Heart,

Brandon

P.S. I'm thankful for YOU
