January: State of the Game

I hesitate to call this a "dev log" because... there is a fair amount of news, not all exclusively game-related, actually!

Merch

So, to those unaware, I will be selling Reanimated Heart merch on my Ko-Fi page very soon. I am fully self-funding production and contacting locals re: manufacturing. I am not rich by any means, so it will be slow-going, but I intend to use a small fraction of Patreon earnings every month to order as many items as I can.

Estimated time of shop opening will be on June.

It will be a small batch at first, but if it actually sells out, I will use the proceeds to get order even more items! Yay!

I currently have Business Cards, Button Pins, and Vinyl Stickers printed out. (Check out the pictures!)

The person who made the stickers actually pointed me to a good Acrylic Charms manufacturer. I may order them next month or on March.

I also intend to make Posters, Prints, and Photocards.

I think the shipping fee will be a bit killer to send things overseas, so I intend to sell "packs" of items instead of individual ones. For example, a Crux pack can have an Acrylic charm, a button pin, and two Crux stickers for maybe $20, you know? I will also include a few "freebies" with each order.

Next Update?

I am actually having a bit of trouble writing this next update because, honestly, I designed this update to be the sum of your actions in Chapter One. It takes into account MULTIPLE choices you have made in the game, like what items you have, what jobs you've done, and who you know, etc etc.

I doubt I will be able to release it on March like I wanted. It looks like it'll be released on April.

What do I currently have?

- 11,000 words and counting! I am actually at the latter half of the first draft. I think the update will be closer to 15k than 20k than I originally thought, so I may be able to finish this before February 10 and spend the rest of the month editing and making assets.

- I commissioned a new song for the update! It's like low-fi carnival-themed.

- One of the old backgrounds (the tent set-up) was for the new update.

- 3 new commissioned items.

And... That's all my updates for the month! I hope to get more done in February.
