Thanks for the info Malin. Now that I think about it I've got a pretty good guess for movies and characters Argent is taking her personality from but if it not too much to ask could you list off a couple of names? I love the Argent perspective on the days after the museum attack you put up. I've gotta know are her nanovores afraid of Sidestep like most animals fear flame?, where it's not even a choice but an ingrained terror without reason or thought.

No nukes how, does the FH verse not have legal nuclear power or something? IRL we've had safe nuclear power production for nearly a full century now, hell as long as you stay on top of maintenance technically we had safe reactors for well over a century. If you count resource cost to make & transit efficiency nothing has ever come close to nuclear power as a clean energy source. all other fuel/energy sources are wildly more wasteful or more destructive to the planet if scaled up to match one reactor's output. If you can make reactor fuel than your already most of the way to weapons grade material. Plus god rods are just huge lead hexagonal pillars shot from outside our orbit at a problem that may as well be city busting nukes they use pure kinetic energy so no fallout and most are more destructive than a 30 megaton ICBM. It's really hard to try making them less dangerous since your literally firing a massive object from space at something so anything reasonable say missile blast equivalent would just burn up on entry.
