ACP Concepting Update!

It's your favorite ghost of a cat that skulks around occasionally dropping a meme. However, today, marks a very unusual and strange occasion: A new update in the form of concepting?

You heard me right! Despite how rough it gets it seems I've randomly decided to give my gave some effort and love again. So lets get into it ...

What is going on with ACP?

ACP or Adventure of Cat (Princess) has been on an indefinite hiatus because constantly chasing bills, credit card statements, rent, moving around, dealing with social nightmares, and gaining weight has made it difficult to find the motivation to work on the game when I have to focus so much on paying the bills.

However, I haven't dropped the little crappy RPGM project. If anything, I've literally dying to work on it and try to make it reach some level of completion.

New Working Title: "Dream of Nyghts"

Adventure of Cat Princess is the original working title of the game which eventually lead to Adventure of Cat, but now I've decided to reach for a new working title: Dream of Nyghts. This is because there is actually a vague impression of a story and plot intended for the game, but mostly for those who want to look for it. With this comes a decision to retire Chrissy from the game and instead have a whole new original character: Jean Marie Rousseau or "Jean Mydnight".

There's a story behind them, but for the time being they are just a new protagonist that can go through the crazy debauchery. With that, here's a new concept sprite of Jean compared to the original Chrissy sprite:

More Concepting

For the time being, I'm sticking with the binary brush look with relatively small assets. Once I confirm the style for the game I may push for higher quality assets. Though, part of this depends on how people react to the new art and changes.

With new art assets comes another refresh of our favorite Jelly Cat:

With many more years under my belt, I've shifted the style towards a new look and feel to give our lovely little mounds of jelly even more personality. Also, I'll be creating additional assets for different states so both monsters and characters feel more lively.

Of course, I have to showcase a new potential Jelly Cat: Nervous Jelly

Nervous Jelly is being concepted as a Jelly Cat you may encounter as a side character. The general idea is that he's trying to sell you a variety of "organic medicinal herbs" that may actually provide very powerful buffs in game which may tie into some ... lewd shenanigans. Just like with the Jelly Cat refresh, we also see a variety of assets to cover different states.

Finally, I have to at least share some older concepts that I may refresh as well, but for the most part are well enough established as ideas to possibly implement to showcase:

I believe I have show these already, but perhaps it's time to job the memory a little.

Muscle Jelly is all about bulking up and loves fitness, exercising, smoothies, and protein powder. Even though they are still squishy like jelly, they can become incredibly strong and durable. They will likely satisfy that kinky nature of muscle kinksters possibly with more long-term status effects (artwork permitting).

Trippy Jelly is a unique Jelly Cat because they're actually an amalgam of all the primary rainbow jelly cats combined into one being that isn't due to corruption. One would say, to encounter and interact with one would probably be a wild trip. If implemented, probably has some kind of psychotropic like effects or mechanics. For now, enjoy the conveniently PRIDE jelly, haha!

That's it for now! Though, I hope to do some more and hopefully start implementing more into the actual game itself. Even though I'm not in the best of ways these days, I want to make ACP (or Dream of Nyghts) even if it's going to be literal cringy meme trash no one will care about.

I figure, if I'm going to get active again on ACP, I will have to start streaming my work. If you're on my Discord, you can look to my #alerts channel to see if I'm doing a dev stream. I may make a role exclusively to ping people who want to watch just dev streams. I will almost always stream this kind of content on Picarto.TV however, there might be weird times where I might show up on my Twitch (likely only when there's nothing naughty to show or talk about, lol)
