Good for them. I hate to think it but if they had lynched him, that would be the kind of message Russians would understand. But then it's hard not to understand the General too- in the rotten position he finds himself, would you ever want to be sober? For all we know he's heartbroken about being forced to send all these 'recruits' into the meat grinder...
