Happy Friday beetle gang!! I’m really happy with how this piece came out. Simple concept, fun to draw, and has a lot of the visual hallmarks I love to include in my comics, like a cartoon character hitting an oddly specific and subtle pose.
I wanted to take a moment and express my extreme gratitude to all of you in this patreon community! I am currently writing a new longform piece I’m very excited about. It’s more ambitious than anything I’ve taken on before, but I’m feeling ready to just cold plunge into it the way I did with the Reunion and the Flyer. I’m rapidly approaching 400k followers on my Instagram, which is absolutely surreal. Getting to make independent comics as my full time career is a dream come true for me. I don’t feel in any way like it’s time for me to rest on my laurels, in fact I am invigorated to continue to deliver better, more interesting and important material to my readers and supporters. Right now in a time when the value of art and design is being called into question, I have never felt more confident and secure that I am doing exactly what I should be doing.
