Lets talk Lore..

Hey Y'all!
Since people have expressed interest in know a little bit more about The Changing Times Antique Store I thought Id start with the basics...The Changing Times Antique store is a medium sized Antique Mall located medium sized suburban town( actual name of the town pending.. give me your ideas below!) it looks fairly unassuming from the outside and the inside also seems relatively tame until you spot the many many warning signs that inform you in no uncertain terms that every item in the store is absolutely cursed.
The Store sells items that will transform their owner into a variety of forms from the real, to the mythical, to the just plain weird and out there! cursed items in this world are extremely rare so most people don't actually truly believe in the validity of the curse until they see it with they're own eyes. The store has been in the same place for about 20 or so years but most of the towns inhabitants had never seen it actually open for business until about a year ago.. this is because the Owners were away a lot and had trouble finding consistent staffing but now..
 the first person that you'll see upon entering the building is Pattie the store Manager, Pattie is one of the best staff members we have here namely for one reason, Pattie is immune to any an all forms of magic! its just a quirk of biology but some people are unable to be affected by magic of any type so luckily this makes her a prime candidate for handling all the cursed items in store.

Anyone else who tried to touch or lift the stores objects without gloves would instantly begin transforming. She is generally pretty easy going and enjoys her job but can get annoyed at patrons who don't take the warnings that the store has post all around seriously.


Pattie is the one who generally keeps the store running day to day, occasionally the Owners try to hire some help for her but generally they only last a week or two before accidentally bumping into things and getting transformed. As for the owners....

Meet( left to right) Alice and Geraldine Westercoates. They're married. have been since before it was officially legal. Alice inherited a family legacy of curses, her family has been into curses and curse breaking since early in the 14th century. as the last living Westercoates upon her fathers demise she inherited a large storage facility filled to the brim with cursed objects. 
Her and Geraldine decided that the best way to keep the family legacy alive was to use a store to offload the "safer" of the cursed objects. That way they had funding to continue the globetrotting search for harmful cursed objects. They rarely are actually present in the store but will occasionally pop in to see how things are running in-between adventures.
