She-Ra episode 19--Light Spinner, part 2!

I liked that.  I really really liked that.  We got to see Shadow Weaver’s descent, such as it was, from hero to villain, and it really gave us a great look at her as a character.  I really really like how fleshed out she is, my reservations about how her heel turn was handled notwithstanding.  Seeing how consistent Light Spinner is with the current-day Shadow Weaver was really well done.

And that betrayal of Catra.  Oooof.  That hurts.  Poor kid.  She reached out to someone for really the first time all show and paid for it.

I wonder where Shadow Weaver is going next?  She’s obviously not going back to the Horde.  As my Discord chat has explained to me, her loss of power comes from the spell of obtainment itself requiring her to leech new power sources, not just that it steals power as a one-time thing.  So what power source is she going for next?  The runestones are her best bet, but they’re also heavily guarded.  She’s a smooth talker, though--maybe she’ll sell herself as an asset against the Horde?

It’ll be interesting to see.

Light Spinner comes in at my new #1 for Season 2, displacing White Out, and my new #1 overall, displacing Promise.  That was REALLY good, you guys.  I hope the quality of these past two episodes continues.  This is good stuff.

Up next is going to be the final episode of Season 2!  We’ll be starting that on Friday.  After that, we’ll be doing the Patron Picks, and then...Mob!  So stay tuned for that!

Streamwise, I haven’t really had any streams in me for a couple weeks--I’ve been fighting some pretty rough depression and really haven’t been able to get myself to do anything.  I’m going to try to continue Final Fantasy IX tomorrow, though.  Here’s hoping!
