Roughly nine months ago we released Roof Assets 1, my first attempt in a long while to address the roof element in our asset library. That pack seemed to go spectacularly well, immediately upending the existing roof elements available in the library and making it clear that a follow up to part one would need to be in the works.
Thus, Roofing Assets 2! I knew while still in progress on part one that I really wanted to take a swing at an updated version of our thatch roofs, but also knew doing so would be far beyond the scope of the already rather bloated part 1. I'm glad to say we've done so here, and have delivered it in two variations, each with distinctly different hips, ridges, and edges so as to allow for more subtlety between those buildings when used next to each other on a map. Meanwhile Wooden Shingle 2 style helps to bulk up the available options introduced in part 1 and I've also included a set of new balconies to accompany all of these buildings.
3 new roofing styles: Clay Shingle 1, Wooden Shingle 1, and Slate Shingle 1.
Each roofing style arrives in default rectangle shapes of various sizes totaling up to somewhere between 50-60 raw buildings each
These "raw buildings" also arrive with "extension roofs" , "windows roofs" (aka dormers), and slanted roofs you can use in combination with those default roof shapes to customize at will.
Each roofing style also arrives with circular (or at least, octagonal) roofs of various sizes
Each roofing style arrives with 8 "combined" roofs prebuilt from those pieces for immediate drag + drop
20 new balconies of various sizes, with options for wooden or stone railings
There is also a "roof workshop" folder containing many of the base ingredients of each roofing style for those of you that would need something custom enough that you wanted to get into the nitty gritty of it all.
And for my Dungeondraft users, a colorable iteration of the Wooden Shingle 2 style in order to get quick and easy hue shifts
And as you'll see previewed above, a 22x34 square "example" map of a countryside town street, making use of the new building styles in a quaint hometown.
The Dungeondraft-ready conversion of Roof Assets 2 firstly contains all 3 roofing styles as native options within DD's actual roof tool, offering a great deal of utility. Because of the way that tool behaves however, its default usage will result in roofing edges that are straight and uniform, unlike how their assets appear in the default ZIP package. If you'd like that extra detail, I've also included seamless edges for the thatch roofing so you can add it by hand.
That said, you will still find ALL the assets for the pack available as objects themselves, should you wish to use my premade ones or assemble the buildings by stacking their disparate parts rather than make use of the roof tool. Lastly you'll also find colorable versions of the Wooden Shingle 2 pieces.
Enjoy!
