Public Assets Pack Theme

Hello all!

With the recently completed Cave Assets Pack now in our collective rear view mirror it's time that we begin narrowing down our selection for the next assets pack! This is always fun for me seeing where you as a collective lean towards what I should be focusing on in the next season.

Below I've outlined a few options for which to base the theme of the next Assets Pack on. Please vote for your favorite! The Lava & Underdark theme might dovetail nicely with the Cave Assets, but the Desert or Tropical themes would be a nice change of pace or the Steampunk or Ship themes might synergize well with current/future D&D modules!

I will be leaving the poll open until exactly one week after I have made this post, at which time the option with the most votes wins!

We recently started a maritime themed campaign set in the Sea of Fallen Stars .. seeing the Ships & Sailing pack so far ahead makes me all sort of happy .. as will my players if this comes to fruition! :) Thanks for all the great map work .. really helping my campaign along!

Since I've been working with the new caves asset pack I voted for the Lava/Underdark since it expands on the already excellent pack. For me the other packs except possibly the Ship or Desert ones are more situational and I just don't have any situations in my current campaign where I need those graphics. Not saying they wouldn't become useful down the road, but at this point like the winter pack, not so much.

But for me it's also the fact that most other assets don't really work with your art style. Don't get me wrong I love your style. I find that when someone is trying too hard for realism they often fail. Where a more illustration or even if I may "cartoony" look is actually superior. I guess it proves the old maxim that less is often more.

I think these are great for assets. I can imagine using all of them.

I wholeheartedly agree with the necessity of more modern looking visuals (which is why I included it in the first place), but also feel that niche-ness has the counterbalance in that it becomes less useful for as wide of an audience as a result. I’ll continue to include it in these theme polls and when it beats out the others we’ll focus on it for a period.

This is a great idea Wesley, I’ll add it to my personal list so sewers is an option in the future! I don’t know how much of a consolation it is, but I’m fairly sure sewers have been done before (2minute tabletop comes to mind) if you need something soon!

To be honest all of these sound good. I voted for steam punk just because it was a very different setting.

These ideas are awesome, but I've been really hoping to see a Sewer System style tile pack. I really enjoy urban settings but I'm pretty limited without any good sewer assets. You can do a lot of cool things with a sewer pack like caved in walls that open up to the cave assets, or even some secret way to get into a banks vaults via a sewer, etcetera.

All of these ideas are great! Would definitely love to see some additional, modular water textures for sure. But also definitely looking forward to some more underground stuff as well!

I love all of these, but frankly- as tantalizing as the rest are, there's so *little* steampunk shit out on the market. Especially *good quality* steampunk maps. So 'modern'-esque buildings, of machinery, or whatnot- would be appreciated. Especially as I'm currently attempting to run a Thief campaign, set in the industrial/steampunk setting of... Thief.

Adahn

Unfortunately once I've started a poll with the '1 selection per vote' option I can't undo that, so I guess just try and pick your absolute favorite! If nothing else all of these themes will continue to be options in the future so it's likely we'll see iterations of all of them down the line!

Venatus Maps

I would have voted for ships, desert, and jungle.

Do you think this could be a multiple choice vote? I am interested in a number of these themes. Thanks.
