Westernos' Deep Design Feedback

Hello all!

In the polls we did a little while back for our growth reward you all chose for me to work on a mini-module that would expand on adventure opportunities within one of the dungeon maps I've made. You all ended up choosing an upcoming dungeon I had then been working on, a desert-themed tomb built for an funerary deity for which I had at that point already released a battle map entrance for.

So while I've been squeaking in time between maps to work on the dungeon's design, I thought why not see if I can get some feedback and suggestions from the horde of creative DMs I'm creating the content for in the first place!

So while the sketches are obviously stand-ins for WIPs, the designs of the monster and item themselves are really what I'm looking for thoughts on (as well as the look of the sketches, graphic layout for the item card, etc.). The Truesight Torches effectively serve as scouts within the first main area(s) of the tomb and are therefore intended to be challenging as a means of avoiding detection rather than through combat itself, however I have toyed with the idea of giving them some small access to spellcasting to potentially beef them up. Alternatively the Withering Repository is an item held by a sort of boss-like enemy deeper within the tomb.

Thoughts? Likes/dislikes? Any additional wants for what you'd like to see in regards to enemies, puzzles, lore, etc.? Help me help you!

That is indeed what true sight would entail, and I fully agree about previewing that ability/consequence beforehand so that it doesn’t totally catch them by surprise. Part of why I wanted them to be more formidable in that strategic sense rather than a combative force, hence the 14AC. Thank you for your thoughts!

Venatus Maps

Flying swords have a natural AC of 17, which I believeis due to their small size and movement. I would suggest the same for the Truesight Torch to make them slightly more more than an easily swattable fly. Just being seen by them making you visible to the BBEG of the dungeon seems a little harsh unless there is some hints in the dungeon as to this being the case so that the players can reasonably be expected to have a chance of doing *something* to counteract this. Also .. as they are Truesight ... does that mean they can see through magical disguise or concealment? Otherwise, very cool start to things and I look forward to watching this unfold!
