Line of Duty is Ludicrous (but should I watch more?)

Listen, Line of Duty is quite grim, but also unintentionally hilarious, and I wish to know if anyone can tell me how ludicrous it gets :D

(This is the last of my flurry of shorts, normal service will resume closer to Christmas)

This reminds me of when my wife and I wanted to watch Ray Donovan (because it sounded really interesting), but we could not make it past the first episode :D In our opinion, the main character was both totally unbelievable AND unlikeable, so we did not continue...

I thoroughly enjoyed all of Line of Duty. Yes it suffers a bit from the ludicrous, but I thought the pay off in the final season(s) brought it full circle and somehow tied it off with a nice bow.

It would be a huge improvement if only 1/3 police officers were corrupt 😞

I've never watched Line of Duty, but my feeling is, when you find all the characters unpleasant and their actions reprehensible, it's time to hang it up.

What it sounds like you are describing is what I might refer to as a "soap opera". If so, expect many more cases of infidelity, murders, death fake-outs, long lost twins and other imposters, and amnesia. Literally all of the amnesia as plot device. The writers will eventually just start mainlining "Milk of Amnesia" to make the ends meet in the plot. :)

In the US we say that a television series has "jumped the shark", and it happens far more often than not -- US television believes that while they are making any money they should just keep pushing forward with the same drivel, or worse.

Many series start well, but wind up being stretched out past the point of butter scraped across too much bread. Maybe quit while you're enjoying it?

Good night Mrs. Bearup! Sweet dreams! It's gone midnight and now it's Monday.

I've learned from experience that when a YouTuber posts a bunch of shorts it usually means they are out of town or otherwise pre-occupied, so I want to say I hope you had fun?
