Bargain Bin Harley Quinn and Other Armour Reviews

So happy to finally have the opportunity to include Random Soft Toy From Spreadshop in a video :D

that little "dangly bit" at the front of Teela's swimsuit is actually some kind of pocket/ pouch thingy. i was very surprised to see her start fishing around inside it one saturday morning. but yea, it was the 80's, and it was all some kind of magical superscience handwave~y bs, so it being armor or not was just kind of ignored 95% of the time. it was a saturday morning cartoon, it's not like the ~effectiveness~ of any of it as armor would ever actually be tested.

1:42 "Some of you need Jesus." Jill, that's quite an understatement. But, if I may add, a perfectly delivered one :)

You point, I punch

Fun review of what is probably not armor in most cases. If you are on an 80s cartoon kick, might I suggest the Dungeons' & Dragons cartoon? At least one of them is wearing proper armor. Cheers!

Jerry

Man-at-Arms, who is the father of Teela. Hand in your 80s card.

Jonathan Campbell

Yes, mountain pattern armor is indeed a thing!

Archionblu

Thank you SO much for the 20 minute digression...

But when will you review Highlander (1986). It's an entire movie written around swordfighting! And the series is an entire TV series written around swordfighting!

I maintain that the use of the word "armor" there is not intended to be taken literally. That is absolutely Not Even Armor. It's some kind of magically pasted-in-place stuff that is designed for maximum pain. She's an established shapeshifter whose clothing/outfit changes when she changes form so it might not even be an actual outfit - just what she chose to enchant onto that body-shape.

Orin the Red is very bad. From the wiki: > "A daughter of Bhaalspawns and a devout practitioner in the arts of murder and pain...Her armour is bright blood-red, rigid and rough like chitin." Because sometimes it's nice to punch hitler and not concern yourself with whether you did the right thing. No, there is no explanation to the chitin-like material bending. The lack of coverage in lore is that she takes Just Stab Me Now to PLEASE STAB ME ALREADY. Out of lore explanation is the video game phenomena in which the power level of a female character is inversely proportional to the thoroughness of her protection.

Re Baldur's Gate, to paraphrase Minsc, "Cold showers for everybody".

If you can make fabric out of shrimp it seems like you could bend lobsters? YouTube: Turning SHRIMP into Fabric https://youtu.be/JIGPV_-MI9w

William Wallace

6:55 "Man-at-arms" which always struck me as a title rather than a name so maybe the characters in the cartoon couldn't remember his name either.
