"I suddenly feel very perturbed" HA, I love it. Having written a couple of draft interactions between Caroline and Leo (which obviously none of you have seen but I may post them on Patreon at some point) I have come to the conclusion that of the two of them, Leo is more wary and less *overtly* disrespectful than Rosamund. Partially, I think, because Rosamund is on some level aware that she is the self-insert character and so probably won't die. Leo, on the other hand, has noticed that the writer and his hot enemy/travelling companion/Lady Rosamund (he's never worked up past *Lady* Rosamund in the casualness stakes) do look remarkably similar...

S1 collection Writer: "You hear her screaming from a nightmare and you immediately go over to soothe her because you just cannot stand to hear a woman in distress withou—" Collins: "I ignore her screaming and go back to sleep." Writer: "But her screaming keeps you up." Collins: "I'm a captain, I think I can sleep through her screaming." Writer: "Not this screaming. It's loud." Collins: "And it won't stop until I comfort her." Writer (smiles): "Correct." Collins: "I hate you." And for the masquerade episode: Writer: "You look over at your hot enemy dancing with another man and you glare at him, quite perturbed." Captain Collins: “Why?” Writer: “Because she’s dancing with another man. Aren’t you jealous?” Captain Collins: “It’s a ball. People dance at balls. It’s what they do.” Writer: “Well, it’s a man who once served in your militia.” Captain Collins: “Still don’t care.” Writer: “And he’s quite handsome.” Collins: “Again, I don’t— ugh, it’s love triangle isn’t it.” (Writer smiles.) Collins: “I suddenly feel very perturbed.” Writer: “Lovely."

Yes - Lots of people died... but they got to get back up again so it was ok. It was quite impressive given the size of the two handed axes people were wealding, I look forwards to your stage combat lessons with Saxon double handed war axes ;)

Oh I love this series! Can we make predictions in the comments? Robin, the childhood best friend, is the assassin and murderer of Rosamund’s husband and robin says he did it because he has always loved Rosamund and wanted her for his own but really he’s rosamund’s late husband’s secret half brother and he wanted his lands for his own and plans on killing rosamund’s children a la “the princes in the tower”.

"Was I supposed to be stupider?" "Frankly, yes" And there's the whole glorious drama in a nutshell!
