Book to Screen- Ready Player One

When I say we were pumped about this episode, that is not an understatement. So sorry about the almost 2 hour run time but this book and movie are DRASTICALLY different.

Ready Player One has had a very polarizing reaction from audiences. Some people love it, others loathe it... but where do you all stand? Do you like the easter eggs? Anything you wish they could have done better?

In Germany, we had to discuss Ready Player One in English class, as part as the futuristic "living in AI society" discussion - I had the discussion in 2015 as a student and now have to teach it as an English teacher myself nearly ten years later :D

2024-04-07 14:04:21 +0000 UTCI’d like to point out that just because many people read it while they’re teenagers doesn’t necessarily make this a YA book. As a bookseller, I know for a fact this is categorized in adult sci-fi

2024-04-05 14:54:29 +0000 UTCI really like the movie-haven’t read the book and def won’t now-but the main issue with the movie I think is-it’s just a lot of world building I think. The parts where people on the street are running with their Apple Vision Pros on just throws me off bc I’m just like….wait are they in the Oasis? What happens when they run into a building in the real world? It honestly feels like the kindve story that would work better as a book which is weird but c’est la vie.

2024-04-05 01:36:21 +0000 UTCI read Ready Player One in middle school and remember LOVING it (just found my old good reads review and i gave it a 5 apparently lol). I haven’t seen the movie but i’d be really interested to see if my opinions of the book have changed now that i’m older.
