guess you kinda feel it at the ending scene, in the way she addresses the situation written she consciously makes it a thing to address jinshi as her superior a official with means and power while talking about the situation for commoner girls. I guess to translate it to a western concept it plays a lot into that sense of noblesse oblige (privilege entails responsibility.) Which is kinda missing when they all speak a bit more 'casually' in the English dub.

2025-06-01 10:34:23 +0000 UTCone thing that's so odd seeing this dub instead of the sub is that english spoken doesn't convey well one part of the story and that's how formal titles and language is used very consciously. MaoMao for example pays very dear example when to adress who with regal or noble titles and when to let her guard down, since in the time this setting is based on a commoner like her could literally get her head chopped off for adressing her 'superiors' too casually. It's a super cool part of reading the story you can see how smart she is by when to adress who what way.
