Far Cry 5 FOV improvements

After a personal request, I began to look into Far Cry 5 in order to increase its FOV limit of 120, which the person found to be too limiting even at 16:9. Although there were many similarities between the Far Cry games, and I knew a thing or two from working on Far Cry 6 and Primal, the knowledge was hardly helpful in getting to the right code.

As it happens, it took many hours of non-stop code reading just to be able to find the functions responsible for the limitations, and again made me wonder whether the tedious work is ever worth it - it's one thing to experiment and see the result in real time but another to just rummage through lines of assembly code.

Thankfully, with the main FOV issue out of the way, it was not long until I found the ways to also remove the interactions FOV decrease and ensure that the 21:9 and wider FOV limitations are removed as well. As you may know by now, the Far Cry games are notorious for decreasing the maximum FOV available to 21:9 and wider users, so if you're at 21:9, your maximum would be even lower than 120, something around 104. Naturally, it would get worse at 32:9 and 48:9.

The final stroke was removing the black bars from the cutscenes. This part was the easiest, as the function responsible for it was directly connected to the aspect ratio. I did not even have to do it, as the purpose of the solution was increasing the FOV, and there was a patcher from jackfuste that fixed this anyway, but I thought that it wouldn't hurt to have an all-in-one fix, just as the one I did for Far Cry 6.

Another piece of good news was that I managed to pack all of these fixes into one DLL-based solution, so none of the users will have to run a trainer for it every time or patch after an update. Great, but with its set of downsides, so I will continue to interchange between the approaches depending on the practicality of each.
