Update:

My new video went public last night and is currently doing better then any of my previous ones, however I do expect it to calm down soon.

I'm currently writing the first draft for a little project for Cruella (2021). If you'd like to give me your thoughts on the movie or some links or things you would like to bring to my attention go ahead. This is suppose to be a more compact smaller project.

Pretty late to this party, but the tldr I've been giving people is that the production had so much flash that other than going on too long, I thoroughly enjoyed it despite the writing being somewhat of a dumpster fire. Why is Cruella's hair black and white? Are Pongo and Perdita siblings? Why do Jasper and Horace forgive her despite her never really apologizing? So many other questions I didn't have time for because I was having fun even though I was unable to shake the knowledge that the movie was just so bad.

I saw the movie, and like with Maleficent, I saw it as a "different dimension" style movie. As in, "if A B and C happened then you get the original version. But since X Y and Z happened, you get this" that's not to say I disliked the movie. I enjoyed it as it's own story. But several things prevent it from being the prequel it intended to be in my mind. First of all the fact that Rodger writes the song before he and Anita meet instead of after they are married. Then Pongo and Perdita are apparently brother and sister (at least in the Lion King Simba and Nala could be up to cousins or half siblings). And I guess Cruella goes on some really hard times since Hell Hall becomes completely dilapidated in the intervening years. Aaand I'm ranting about a Disney movie changing things between films again because they aren't as obsessed about small details as their fans are. But the point still stands that I see it as a different situation creating a different person.

I have seen it. Got a lot of opinions. The movie needed to have the audience accept that "maybe killing the dogs to make a coat was the least bad thing to do" much like how Maleficent did the " cursing Aurora was a human error" idea, but further. Ideally she just kills the dogs in self defense, or in the defense of her friends. This sets off a psychotic break amid the blood and dalmatian flesh. This would be the scene where Estella dies and Cruella embraces that she is the "deVill". Oh and they chickened out hard on the "dog killed her mother" thing, but I am sure you noticed that.

I haven’t seen it either but I do know that Disney’s unrelenting attempts to make us believe that this iteration of Cruella is “punk” is offensive to both my intelligence and my peoples for a number of reasons also I heard that this cruella isn’t even a sadistic narcissist so that’s lame
