I'm earlier today than usual, but I also come bearing a little less gifts than usual. Only three chapters this week, but I'm hoping to get back into form for next Monday with five. I've not been sleeping well the last while, and these chapters were a little tricky. There were a few re-writes in this batch and I've landed in a place that I'm happy with story-wise. I think there's probably some stuff that can be cleaned up later with the official edits.
Big thank you to all the supportive comments and messages over the last week. I know I haven't been as active on the Discord or in the comments, but I'll be doing better at it in the coming weeks.

Think there may be something missing where villa suggests it’s probably the spider, otherwise this exchange doesn’t make sense. Oh and in book one when we meet Villa her knife was supposed to penetrate anything but scuttler armor. But she couldn’t penetrate lava demon. Re the Erica redemption story. Like how this was written but seemed to me that her breaking sals arms had an element of cruelty and maybe envy that the apology was weak on addressing

Because if is more countries I can assume bastion could land there and start increasing there power but if it is just the USA are they maybe people living in red zones like fight everyday for survival? My question is will there ever be an outside human force that is discovered but that could just be far ahead as we are only in the second semester

2025-08-15 17:35:49 +0000 UTCI just read the chapters again and I have a question. Why did Sal need to call Jackal to summon the Arachne Titan? He could've summoned the Titan directly from his tracker and saved his shirt from being ruined, couldn't he? The only reason I can think of is that Sal was trying to impress Erika by showing off the drone but when given the opportunity to do just that by Barry later on he changed the subject!

I really like this series and have read most of the books multiple times except for the second book, because she pisses me off so badly it takes my enjoyment away. She is more likable than she was, but that's only because she's essentially an entirely new character. We haven't actually seen her grow or all. She's just popped up two books after we've last seen her, after barry has worked with her entirely off screen and bam, we're supposed to like her more. She took over sal's mind and had him beaten seriously, in order to win a contest. She mindraped him. She made him so scared he had to invent special equipment to block her power. She traumatized him. An apology isn't enough. Really kinda nothing is. Barry is a dick for forcing this and taking away Sal's agency.

Was it just the ending or not long after Divinity left or somewhere in between? Second question. Isn’t the Arachne Titan bit enough to drape over two buildings? How in the world does it fit in the strategy room? Or is the room WAY bigger than we thought?

2025-08-13 14:22:22 +0000 UTCAh! So good as always. Though, won’t lie. I always wish the chapters are longer, especially since I want to know more! The interaction with Devinity and his practicing is really fun. Definitely liked him kicking the Hulker into the other monsters. Absolutely loved Erika’s reaction to it also. It was nice that she ‘maned’ up so to speak and apologized to Sal for her decisions and how she tried to be kinder, even though it was very difficult to do. I like this side of her and know a lot of people in the comments think it is stupid or silly for Sal to forgive her, but in my mind I see quite a few reasons he is doing so. 1) She hurt him, not someone else he cares for and for people with his type of personality, that is something that can be forgiven a little easier than other things. 2) It has been 5 - 6 months since she hurt him and was a hell of a bitch to him. 3) He trusts Barry, and even if he isn’t completely on board, can see what he is doing in making her more human, especially since the talk in the Tower with her and Prestige showed she was just doing her best. Her best was shit, but at least she is getting better. and 4) As he stated in the last book during the Invasion, this is a war against the demons. Everything else is just stupid to allow to get in the way of defeating them. These are just my thoughts on the subject and how I feel about it. Anyways, great job once again on these great chapters. I do hope we find out what Sal will do to free Devinity from the Hunters Bureau and get to see a bit more of Nova and Whisper. I liked them a lot in the first book. Will be exciting to see their reactions to Jackel! So much fun to be had.

2025-08-13 06:16:36 +0000 UTCI never thought i would enjoy serial publishing in smaller doses( i do cover to back reading in a day with books as a rule) but im pleasantly surprised that i continue to enjoy( somewhat patiently) doing the weekly checkin. Theres a lot of potential arcs you develop and its a good weave imho. As it goes on though im starting to wonder regarding power tiers given your plan for a bookcase series here. I look forward to you proving its doable.

Petro training Anna Sakura in hand to hand 3. Sal having the Endurance to use All Sight 4. Finding out why Fabi was being weird around Sal 5. Sal telling Divinity that he'll make her a better future And the eventual Chris Spectre beat down.
