Pay off of Atticus' story is a long time a coming, friend. I wouldn't say this is all set up. After all, this is a direct answer to the first scene of the story

I'm interested to see how this God State plays into the power levels previously explained. Are the 6 Quasi (whatever the name was) all in this state of power. Do all citizens have this transformation but it expresses so much weaker because they entered it weaker? I am fascinated to find out how this plays. Perhaps the 6 Quasi's is just more propaganda and Atticus and Emily are truly still ahead by several orders of magnitude even above the current cap which Yui is stated to be at. Also makes me think that lady who is making device to hide from the sight is just hopelessly playing into Atticus hand, or perhaps she is the dark horse from the precursors.... I'm so invested. Good chapter, thank you!

But in doing so they fundamentally changed the nature of their existence. Also the insidious nature of the enemy and lengths Atticus has gone to combat them truly is horrifying. Really captured the essence of grim dark in this chapter. Thank you for the update and as always looking forward to the next one.
