Did you know about the FM Towns Marty? This was Fujitsu’s only game console and only was release in Japan.

Fujitsu is Japan famous communications company started in 1935 and is the biggest in all of Japan.

In 1981 they release their first personal computer the FM-8:


Then in 1989 a new PC arrived called FM Towns!:


FM Towns was a popular PC for Japan and had included CD-Rom drive. From this technology about 3 years later the Super Famicom was most popular in Japan and the PC-Engine CD-Rom was still strong from when it started in 1988. At this time Fujitsū decide to join the game console fight by making a smaller and less powerful FM Towns Marty which is CD only machine.

I will say that the mascot is pretty cute! I could see someone trying to jump into the game space but if I’m reading this right and this was released after the Super Famicom, I don’t understand why there’s only two buttons. By that point even in arcade games needed more than just two buttons. Just baffles me, but maybe they were trying to imitate more of the PC Engine because I don’t remember off the top of my head, how many buttons there were on their controllers.
