If you had good eye then when I first talk about Sega's Zillion games you may have see the characters holding a gun that look almost exactly the same as Sega's light gun phaser for Sega Master System console!

Here are some important notes!

1: Sega's Phaser Light gun was not released inside of Japan. It was only available in western countries. It only would work with 13 games. One of these games was Operation Wolf by Taito.

2: Sega were involve in the Zillion anime show production from the beginning. This is why the characters in the show use the Sega Light Gun Phaser as their weapons.. !! But because the gun was not release in Japan to use with video games Sega instead use it for a Laser Tag toy game. one person would wear a triangle target machine on their body and the other player would try to shoot it. When is successfully shot it will flash light up and make noise! Two children could both own one gun and target pack and then play against each other like a laser space battle.😋 This toy in Japan was super successful for Sega.. actually much more than the Zillion anime. They were still sell the laster tag toy for ten years even after the show has finished.

3: The Zillion toy laser game was even release in foreign countries like Europe by a company call Match Box. The box is different but the game is same. It was also release in Brazil where it was sell by a company called Tec Toys. Tec Toys have this first relationship with Sega will later be the company to sell the Master System and Mega Drive in that country.
