Zillion was anime TV show from Tatsunoko Production Co., Ltd. It was future action space adventure show that occurred on a planet called Maris where aliens called Nōza are trying to destory the humans. The team who work on this later become the studio Production I.G. who you might know for make Ghost in the Shell movie! They also did some animation for hollywood movie like Kill Bill:

Zillion was release only 31 episodes in 1987 and stop after that. This is because it is not very success.. In the USA a VHS was sold with 5 episodes only that I have put in the pics..

What is interesting is Sega were strongly connected to this show and have involved in its making. And Opa Opa from Fantasy Zone was even a character in the show:

They had the license to make the toys and video games from the show and made two games for Sega Mark III (Master System). We will look at these game in Part Two!
