It's a 360-degree action camera capable of shooting spherical 10-bit 8K 30FPS video and 29MP 360-degree photos. Unfortunately, while the hardware feels robust and ready, the software feels stuck in the past.

2025-09-24 15:06:19 +0000 UTCWe had the old 360 that we mounted to our airplane, great footage, but we needed to add an external battery with off brand battery cover, especially in the winter. And the lenses ended up a bit scratched, so that exchangeable ones would be great!

I was really excited when GoPro revealed the device itself but you're take on the software has tempered that a bit. You mentioned the Quik app functionality and I'm curious - how does it hold up as an option for casual users? My personal use case is grabbing short clips of motorcycling, skiing, and other short moments for social media and the less time spent wrangling footage, the better.
