I took 1,000 photos with the Sigma BF (Ad-free)
Added 2025-03-14 13:40:09 +0000 UTCOnce you get past learning how to use a completely foreign camera system with limited buttons on an all-metal body, the $2,000 Sigma BF becomes a great companion. And I highly recommend you rent one for a weekend because of how different it feels from everything else and how it might change your perception of Sigma.
The part that didn't make it into the video was my admission that I had been sleeping on Sigma's technology. With limited time using any of their previous camera systems or lenses, I had thought of Sigma as the low-cost, and therefore lower-quality, alternative to the bigger camera manufacturers. But I can now say with great certainty that I was wrong.
The Sigma BF and Sigma's Contemporary lenses can play ball with the big guys, and they do it while looking absolutely beautiful and unique. Below are a few of my favorite shots from the Sigma BF. Unlike in the video, where I added just a touch of contrast, these are all straight out of cam.

The black is also a fingerprint and dust magnet! Very hard to keep looking clean.

The whole booth was so good too (they brought their whole photo book library!) I want to buy some sigma gear just for the heck of it 😅 (fair bit of footage in my video https://youtu.be/SeomAobpDx0)
