Added 2024-12-05 12:57:14 +0000 UTCHello Patreon friends! I made a vlog about how I filmed and edited my Q&A video. It moves quickly, so if you have any other questions, send them my way. Also, send any and all editing and filming tips!
Appreciate you! -Becca

Loooove this. Also love seeing people’s file structures (I’m notoriously unorganised, file wise, but I’m slowly getting better because all my colleagues are hella organised). This vid also has me hankering to make a YouTube vid for the first time ever (by turning one of my newsletter articles into a little script). Haven’t made any video stuff in years – maybe it’s time to try it again.

2024-12-08 02:01:42 +0000 UTCYes! That file structure comes right from the verge. Wouldn’t change it a bit! As soon as projects start to get unorganized everything takes so much longer. So I try and keep it all buttoned up from the start.

2024-12-07 15:10:09 +0000 UTCJust wanna say: I felt happy when you said that you're happier now! Hope you can make more Q&A videos soon, maybe about non-tech topics.

2024-12-07 00:46:38 +0000 UTCLoved this video! I’ve just purchased my first ever proper camera (Fujifilm XM-5) so the beginner photography vids were so well timed, as was the advice about learning to be comfortable on camera - excited to get creating!✨

2024-12-06 23:52:17 +0000 UTCThanks for making this in video form! I think this worked better than a writeup would have. First impression - you're so *organized!* Do you think that filing structure is a result of your previous employment? I mostly just dump all the footage into one folder. Yes to chronological, except for the bit where I realize I *should've* said something but forgot. This has inspired me to get on the edit for my current film scanning Video, unfortunately it'll have to wait a few days cause I'm still in Taiwan for work 🙃

2024-12-06 19:05:54 +0000 UTCThis journey is different for everybody, so please take my strategy with a grain of salt. Currently, I prioritize YouTube because it is what I love and am best at. But come next year, I am going to be putting more resources into social media because my YouTube channel is hopefully going to be in a more stable place. If I were you, I would just focus on what you love to do and what you are best at first. That way, you will have the motivation to keep going. You can't expect yourself to be able to grow audiences everywhere right out of the gate.

2024-12-06 19:05:41 +0000 UTCoh man, that feeling is so real for me. But being able to recognize it and adjust is really the secret to getting through it.

2024-12-06 19:02:22 +0000 UTCI was using the Mic Mini while hiking, and yes, it was connected to the Osmo. It works so well that I have zero things to complain about. I especially love that I can hide it much easier than the OG DJI mics. In true becca fashion, though, I forgot the receiver for it, so once I switched to my phone, the audio was being recorded via those mics. I will soon be making a BTS video on my audio software, so you will have to wait for that answer. Hehe, stay tuned.

2024-12-06 19:00:50 +0000 UTCyay RX-100! I have a Mk1 (was it even called that??) that I play around with now and then

2024-12-06 06:45:07 +0000 UTCBecca, were you using the DJI Mic Mini when hiking? If so, how do you like it? Was it connected to the Osmo? After the Osmo’s SD card became full and you switched to your cell phone for the walk back to your car, were you still on the DJI Mic Mini, or did you switch to the iPhone's built-in mic? What processing or effects (or plugins) do you apply to your audio during editing? Thanks, and keep up the great work! 😎

2024-12-06 04:04:20 +0000 UTCVery few things have been as helpful creatively as you describing and being transparent about beginning to lose interest or excitement in a project and then having tools or next steps for when that happens. I have such a bad habit of just abandoning once that happens.

2024-12-05 20:55:07 +0000 UTCI loved this Q&A and behind the scenes video today; I really needed some motivation. Lately I've been enjoying making IG reels; but my long term goal is to grow on YouTube. The reels (just a couple of short hiking/photography vlogs) don't ever get over 200 views, and most of my likes are from friends and family. How have you been prioritizing content creation? Is YouTube first and short-form video second? Or should I moreso focus on YouTube and recycle that content for Instagram? I'm also in college majoring in geology and anthropology, so I'm trying to balance everything

2024-12-05 20:31:29 +0000 UTCI don’t want to sound cliché or anything, but this got me thinking about actually starting to think about thinking to start a YouTube channel. Which is huge for me

2024-12-05 20:24:32 +0000 UTCCan’t wait for your next video Becca! 🙌 I’ve never really looked at the RX100, but I want to do something similar with my Osmo Pocket 3 😅 gonna push it and see if I can launch my YouTube channel with just that camera and maybe my Action4 for all footage w/ the new DJI mic minis for easy audio 🤞

2024-12-05 19:56:29 +0000 UTCHave you read “A Psalm for the Wild-Built?” Besides being a very cozy, short sci-fi book, I feel like you would relate to the opening line: “Sometimes, a person reaches a point in their life when it becomes absolutely essential to get the fuck out of the city.”
