HxG Chapter 06
Added 2024-10-19 22:27:22 +0000 UTCAura reached the maximum level! Please select an evolved skill
Enhanced aura- Increases effects and reduces Nen cost of all aura usage
Aspect- Pulls aura into the body increasing all boosting effects on the body
Spirit- Aura develops a personality and will actively defend you from harm, can develop separate skills and techniques
…I reached level 100 with Aura and was expecting another option but it seems it’s a reset… They don’t seem as strong compared to some of my other choices but I think choosing one will replace aura and start at level 1 to level again. I pick spirit because it seems like the most interesting out of all the options. The moment I did I could feel my spirit forming and it would take a day or so to fully develop…
And in that process, I couldn’t use my damn aura. What the fuck, I was planning on getting minion to summon to max level today… I guess I’ll try to unlock physical skills instead.
Enhanced strength 01- Increases the effects of strength for lifting weight
Enhanced agility 01- Increases the effects of agility on moving quickly
Enhanced reflexes 01- Increases the effects of agility on rapid movement coordination
Enhanced endurance 01- Increases the effects of endurance on reducing damage taken
Unarmed fighting 01- Increases the damage you deal with your bare hands
Kendo sword specialization 01- Increases the damage you deal with a kendo sword
I gained many skills rapidly as I began training. Enhanced stats seemed to be applied as I did something tied to that particular stat. I knew it was mainly for the bonus options from level breakthroughs or evolving the skills now. I was growing more knowledgeable on the system every moment and was figuring out more things about it.
I increased all my stats up passed twenty, some even close to reaching thirty as I grinded skills.
Enhanced strength reached a breakthrough level! Please select an option
Jump boost- Enhanced strength also increases the height you can jump
Strength aura- All friendly allies gain a tenth of your strength while enemies lose a tenth of theirs
Out of magic but not out of hands- Gain a percentage of your missing Nen as strength
The difficulty of raising these was about three times higher than raising my Nen skills. I decided to go with strength aura. Out of magic but not out of hands was probably the smarter option but I picked strength aura for a few reasons. I could grow stronger almost infinitely but my friends and family couldn’t. Eventually, I’d be able to keep my aura up constantly for the entire mansion giving all my family the buff, and the biggest issue with me is if someone targeted my family.
I would kill them if they did but that still would have brought them pain and suffering, if they didn’t take them hostage and instead killed them… I don’t know what I would do but it wouldn’t be pretty. Giving my mother ten strength would make her life better and easier, that goes for everyone I loved while the strength decrease could be a powerful demoralizer to my enemies.
Enhanced agility reached a breakthrough level! Please select an option
Sprint- Active subskill- Once per day can increase movement speed by 100% for five minutes
Agility aura- All friendly allies gain a tenth of your agility while enemies lose a tenth of theirs
About to die, time to run!- Gain a percentage of your missing Nen as agility
This one was a much more difficult choice. I would get a boost that was best for catching an opponent I normally wouldn’t be able to, the same aura boost I picked previously except agility instead of strength and an escape mechanism from running away from stronger opponents… There was also the fact that I knew using sprint would increase the agility or level of the skill itself faster… I still picked the aura.
I wouldn’t have a problem with movement but I couldn’t say the same thing about my loved ones. A small boost to agility could be the difference in life or death to them and if I had to run and leave behind my friends I’d rather just die along with them anyway. Enhanced reflexes were much harder to level as I would need special equipment to train it quickly and I was just having two of my bodyguards throw balls close to me that I needed to catch to raise it.
That became them targeting my body when I realized I could also be training for enhanced endurance when they struck me. The damage was negligible so I had them toss rocks at me. That eventually got me there for both.
Enhanced endurance reached a breakthrough level! Please select an option
Bodyguard- Increases endurance while protecting another person
Endurance aura- All friendly allies gain a tenth of your endurance while enemies lose a tenth of theirs
I’m even harder to kill while unconscious- Gain a percentage of your missing Nen as endurance
Endurance aura of course. This was the big one, if I trained my endurance up high enough it would mean they could survive being shot. I think someone with fifty could not only survive a gunshot but it would deal minimal damage to them.
Enhanced reflexes reached a breakthrough level! Please select an option
Sight beyond sight- Allows you to select a person or animal and see through their eyes at the cost of Nen, the further away the target is away
Danger sense- Feel a tingle at the back of your neck when someone is looking at you with ill intentions
Always observing- Passively scan items with observe by focusing on them for more than ten seconds
Well, I was wondering how they would deal with the aura if enhanced agility already gave the agility boost. That just meant I could look at the choices. All were pretty niche but danger sense seemed like a good lie detector as well as a safeguard against threats. It would allow me to catch people only putting on a fake appearance and wishing me harm.
Unarmed fighting reached a breakthrough level! Please select an option
Fast learner- Gain knowledge on unarmed combat at a rapid rate, even by just watching people fight
Training partners- Any opponents you fight will gain unarmed combat knowledge rapidly
Haymaker- Active subskill- Twice per day increases the strength of a single blow by four times, missing opens you up to counterattacks
I picked fast learner. My main weapon was going to be my fists as I knew weapons would become mostly useless at higher stats and skills. Training partners might seem useless but it is the first skill I could actively help train my parent's bodyguards. The problem was the skill it helped train. I would need to practice with guns tomorrow but… How the fuck would I help train marksmanship, a skill I hadn’t gotten but could guess was available, without killing them?
