NRaO Chapter 45

We made our way inside and I was greeted with many small clans I didn’t know existed and about twice as many medium clans than I thought the village had. The only three large clans were Uchiha, Hyuga, and Senju but Tsunade, the current clan leader married into mine giving her position to her brother who was too young. She only had a temporary position until her brother was a few years older to take over the leadership.

Besides those three there were five seats with four people sitting in them next to the Hokage. The Uzumaki had a position to the left of the Hokage showing that while they weren’t a part of our village they were deemed important enough to have a spot here. Two of his old teammates Homura and Koharu, both weren’t long for this life if I had a say in it and their seats would soon be vacant as well. Besides those three, the current clan head of the Nara family was also there. The empty seat was Danzo’s but he obviously didn’t need it anymore.

I held back a smirk as I thought that in just a few months I would have primed the female members I left alive to submit to me and become my concubines finally. I planned to take the man's wife and sister as concubines and adopt his daughter when they realized if they didn’t join another clan they were going to be pushed down to civilians. I might do the same with Homura and Koharu’s families.

Homura would have survived but I found out through spies that he was the one pushing for most of the penalties against my clan. The moment I found out he was against me his life was forfeit and his clan was soon to be diminished. Altogether there are about fifty people inside the room with twelve of the more prominent clans sitting around a table and many smaller clans just standing around listening to them make plans.

In the center of the table was a giant map of the land and the current Uchiha leader was the Hawk faction, the real future leader was too young… I had done some research into what happened, and why was one of our strongest Uchiha’s sent on a suicide mission shortly before the end of the war. The implications were that he wasn’t ordered on a mission but someone lied and sent him to enemies who knew he was coming.

Losing Kagami was rough because it was very rare to get a kind-hearted Uchiha, especially one who also was willing to lead. Who could have sent him to his death, was it an enemy nin or someone inside the village who hated Uchiha? When I started looking into it, too much time had already passed so we’ll never know who sent Kagami to his death.

Fugaku was his only child but his sister already had three, the current temporary head of the Uchiha and the head of the Hawk faction were both her children. He was currently screaming about how we should have finished what we started in the first war. “We should have finished what we started in the first war and killed the other villages. Or at least put them under us as subordinate villages so they would have to pay compensation for starting the war.”

He slammed his hand on the table and the Nara sat beside the Hokage and spoke. “You know we couldn’t put all four under our thumbs, we’d have been fighting rebellion the moment we did and would have been spread too thin.” He looked tired, but that was most Nara. I would like to gain a few wives or concubines from the Ino, Shika, and Cho clans but they weren’t as important as gaining kekkei genkai users or pseudo jinchuriki’s were.

I smiled at him and he noticed before averting eye contact. The Nara was a clan I was deeply interested in because of their brilliance. There was little doubt they knew how much of a threat I would be in the future and instead of trying to squash me like the other clans, they ignored me. That sounds foolish but it was the smartest thing they could do.

They probably told their two friendly clans to not try and attack me either. Soon enough I would reveal my power and become a medium-sized clan. I was planning to rack up accolades in this war so I could get concessions from Hiruzen when I did more evil things that were found out. Wiping out one clan wouldn’t be noticeable but after I wiped out the two others of his squad mates and absorbed several smaller ones into my own I had no doubts even Hiruzen would be coming after me to limit my power inside the village.

I listened and noticed how boring it was. The Hokage was still in the planning phases for the war and was separating which clans were headed to which land to fight. He got to Kumogakure. “Now… We most likely won’t have to deal with Kumogakure because there was a Bijuu attack that killed fifteen thousand of their ninja. They’ll be recovering for at least the next few years, if not longer.”

He puffed his pipe as the information he tried to keep hidden was revealed. Most put on shocked expressions, even though they already found out through their own spies or information networks. He glanced in my direction and I just gave him a smile and thumbs up before he continued. It appeared that my family was going to be on standby in case they began to attack. That was when Homura spoke up.

“I think it would suit the Mitokato and Utatane families more to sit back in case the Hidden Cloud enters the war.” I couldn’t help but chuckle at his brazenness. Because he was a founding member and friend of the Hokage he believed he could take the spot I had earned through killing their Jinchuriki vessel. I just said. “I refuse to give my position to either of their families. I would like to nominate the three of our clans to take on the brunt of the war effort against the Hidden Mist.”

If they were on the same battlefield as me I could whittle their numbers down. He realized his ploy was about to get him killed he spoke warily. “If the Ryuchi clan doesn’t want to watch the Hidden Cloud, I’ll recommend the Saritobi and Shimora clans take watch duty instead.” This was another strategic choice for him. If the Shimora could recover and become the size of a small clan again, then he’d regain an ally. An ally indebted to him for putting his clan out of harm's way.

The three men of the Shimora clan were all rendered impotent already. The years it would take for them to realize would be all the time it would take for them to lose their clan title. I had no doubt the Hokage would make a special condition or even change the laws to keep them around, but their position in the village was already neutered to oblivion. They’d never hold the power they had become accustomed to.

Finally, it was decided that my clan would take part in defending against the Hidden Mist… I had no plans on doing that. They were an invading army and the only way they’d learn their lesson is if we fought back twice as hard. The way to win wars wasn’t to constantly defend until the enemy quit. It was to beat your enemy to death and they needed time to recover to fight again. If I kept attacking when they decided to quit it would get the point across that this half-assed attack Konoha whenever they want bullshit the Hokages have been letting them get away with will no longer happen. I plan to subjugate the Hidden Mist.

He kept talking about where other clans were needed and how the larger clans would be spread out on every battlefield. More plans came into play as I heard their plans to defend a war on three fronts at the same time.
